Chapter 23

We found our way to our seats in first class and sat down quietly, not saying a word. I was still pondering the whole Nanna thing. 'What was she talking about?' I thought as I looked down at my stomach. 'There is no way I'm pregnant!' I must have fallen asleep soon after that because the next thing I knew, Brian was shaking me to wake up.
"Kate, Kate, we're here!" he said excitedly.
"Where's here?"
"Orlando, remember?"
"Oh yeah!" I said jumping up with excitement. "How could I forget?" Brian and I held onto each other as we walked through the gates and into the terminal. A huge smile spread across my face with each step I took. I was so happy to be going back to where I thought I belonged. Soon we had my suitcases and were on our way to his apartment.
"I am so happy that you decided to do this," said Brian leaning over and taking my hand with his free hand as he drove.
"Me too, Brian," I said leaning over and kissing his cheek lightly. He smiled and continued driving. We pulled into the parking lot of his apartment not to long after that. It looked the exact same as it had before. When I stepped out of his car this warm sensation tingled all over my body as I looked at the building. Brian came up and put his arm around my waist. I looked at him and smiled, then he lead me up the stairs and into his apartment. When we walked in Nick, Erika, AJ, and Jenn were sitting on his couch watching TV. I guess they heard the door open because they all looked up and practically ran over to us.
"Hey Kaitlyn!" said Erika throwing her arms around me.
"Hey girl! How ya been?" I asked as we pulled out of our hug.
"Wonderful!" she said smiling at Nick.
"That's wonderful! What's up Nick? Damn, I think you got taller since I was here. You're like 6'4"! "
"6'1", but who's counting?" he said laughing. "How have you been?"
"Great!"
"Same here." I nodded and looked over at Jenn and AJ who I guess had decided the time was right to start making out. I just laughed quietly. They sure hadn't changed at all. Brian hit AJ in the back of the head and AJ turned around.
"What the hell was that for, man?" he asked rubbing the back of his head. AJ looked over at me. "He he...sorry about that!" he said before giving me a hug.
"It's alright! I know how your devious little minds work! So, I see you decided to go with purple this time," I said inspecting his hair.
"It was Jenn's idea. I think I look gay."
"No you don't! I like it! It looks good!"
"Well, thank you!"
"Welcome!" I said and looked over at Jenn.
"Hey girl!" she said and wrapped her arms around me.
"Hey Jenn! What's new?"
"Nothin' much! Oh look, I got a tattoo!"
"Uh oh...AJ's starting to rub off on you. I think I might need to separate you two!" I said as she unbuttoned her shirt.
"Hey, you sure you should show her that?" asked AJ getting a little antsy as she unbuttoned her shirt.
"Yeah, maybe you shouldn't do it in front of the hornball, here," said Brian messing up AJ's hair.
"Just behave, okay AJ?" she said as she finished unbuttoning her shirt. She pointed to a small butterfly on the left side of her chest. "Ya like it?"
"Yeah! It's awesome! You know what I've always wanted to get?"
"You want a tattoo?" asked Brian raising his eyebrows.
"Yeah, but don't worry, I don't have the guts to do it. I want my belly button pierced too, but that'll never happen either."
"I think you should get it done. It would look really sexy with your bathing suit," said Brian pointing at my belly button.
"I don't know. Maybe I will."
"So, what tattoo have you always wanted?" asked Nick.
"Oh yeah! Sorry, kinda got sidetracked! I want 3 shooting stars on my right shoulder blade."
"That'd be so cute!" said Erika.
"I'm still thinking about it. I don't really know if I'm gonna want that when I'm 50 years old, ya know?"
"Girl, you gotta live in the now!" said AJ.
"Hey, I'm gonna go get your stuff out of the trunk, alright?" asked Brian.
"Yeah!"
"I'll help ya," said Nick and AJ walking behind Brian out the door.
"Have you ever noticed that if guys see an opportunity to hang out with the guys that always take it?" asked Erika smiling.
"Uh huh!" said Jenn.
"So.......you happy to be here?" asked Erika.
"Overwhelmed! I'm so happy to be back here with the sun and the beach and, oh yeah, and you people! I'm just playin! I'm so happy to be back here with all you guys!"
"We're all happy you're back, too!"
"Hey, where's Howie and Kevin?" I asked noticing we were missing some people.
"I'm not really sure. We told them to get over here about a half an hour ago. Kevin and Farrah are always late for everything! And Howie and Alexis are usually every where on time, but I don't know what's keeping them."
"Oh! I can't wait to meet Farrah and Alexis. I'll bet they're as cool as you guys!"
"No one is as cool as us!" said Jenn laughing lightly.
"Oh yeah, it must have slipped my mind!" I said as the front door opened and in walked AJ, Nick, and Brian. They each had a bag in their hands. "Thanks guys!" I said as they walked past us and into Brian's bedroom to set my bags down.
"No prob, Bob!" said Nick as they all walked back into the living room. I just laughed and shook my head as I took a seat on the couch. Brian did a running cannonball and fell on the couch next to me. He gave me the cheesiest smile with his legs still against his chest and his arms wrapped around them. I laughed.
"You thirsty, baby?" he asked unwrapping his legs and sitting up normal.
"I'm alright, thanks though."
"Uh huh!" The doorbell rang.
"I'll get it!" I yelled jumping up and running to the door.
"Oh no you won't!" said Brian running after me. I was a few feet from the door when Brian reached out and grabbed me around the waist. I turned around and faced him with his arms still around me.
"Well someone has to get the door."
"Whoever it is can wait," he said kissing me lightly. I wrapped my arms around his neck as our kiss intensified. The doorbell rang again.
"I guess I'll get it," said Nick walking to the door. He opened it and Howie and some girl walked in. Brian and I were still kissing in the entranceway.
"Uh, hey guys," said Howie as he walked past us with the girl attached to his left hand. Brian pulled away from me.
"Hey Howie! Hey Alexis!" he said taking my hand and walking towards them.
"Hi Howie! How are you?" I asked giving him a hug.
"Really good! How have you been."
"Really really good!"
"That's good! This is my girlfriend, Alexis. Alex, this is Kaitlyn, Brian's girlfriend."
"Hey Alexis!" I said shaking her hand.
"Nice to meet you. What happened to the bitch?" she asked Brian.
"We broke up."
"Oh. So where's Kev and Farrah?"
"Good question," said AJ.

---Later on that night--- Kevin and Farrah finally showed up about 15 minutes later then Howie and Alexis had. Farrah seemed very cool, but I was getting this negative vibe from Alexis. She didn't seem to care for me to much. I thought she seemed pretty nice to everyone else, though. Maybe she just needed time to get used to me. Brian invited everyone to stay for dinner. They all accepted. That whole Nanna thing was still bugging me. I hadn't really thought about it since the plane, but for some reason at dinner I just started thinking about it again. After dinner was over and Brian and AJ were doing the dishes, I decided to pull Jenn aside and talk to her about Nanna.
"So, do you think it means something?" I asked after I had told her all about what had happened.
"Well, I don't really know. I mean, I guess it could mean something. When was the last time you had sex?"
"3 months ago with Brian...but I would have known by now, wouldn't I have?"
"I don't know, Kaitlyn...you do seem like you've gained a little weight since last time."
"I've been eating really bad lately."
"When's the last time you threw up?"
"Why?"
"Just answer."
"Like 2 days ago."
"What about before that?"
"The morning before. I've been getting sick since I left here. It's just because I was depressed."
"I think you need to go to the doctor, or get one of those home pregnancy tests."
"I'm not pregnant. There is no way that's possible!"
"Well you should still check it out."
"Fine...will you go with me?"
"Sure."
"Just don't tell anyone, alright? I don't want to ruin this perfect night we're all having. Everyone's in such a good mood. I don't want to spoil that."
"I won't tell anyone."
"Not even AJ."
"Not even AJ," she repeated as we walked back into the living room.
"Thank you," I said quietly. She nodded and we sat down on the couch.
