As Long As You Love Me

Chapter Fifty

"Howie!!! Why aren't we going with the others?!" I begged to know, whining because he was taking me back to the hotel and I wanted to go to the big party with the guys. They had just finished an MTV interview and there was a party at a club that everyone was going to. But Howie wouldn't let me go because of my knee.

"You can't go because of your knee! You are supposed to be resting and all you've been doing for the past few days is walk around. So tonight you can't do anything but sit around. Deal?" he informed me. I began to pout.

    "Not fair," I grumbled.

"Too bad," he grumbled back. We got back to the hotel and went back upstairs to our room. Once inside, Howie ordered dessert and two candles. When they arrived, he turned down the lights and lit the candles, knowing full well how much dimmed lights bothered me. We ate the special Valentine's Day dessert, then Howie decided to take a trip down memory lane.

He pulled out a bag of candy hearts. I took one look at him and the bag, and began to laugh.

"You are too much!" I cried. When we were little, he and I used to play word games with the candy hearts, making real conversations out of them.

"How could we go a Valentine's Day without a good candy heart conversation?" D pointed out. I smiled.

"But of course," I agreed. He tore open the bag, then reached in for a handful. I did the same. As always, he started.

    'Hi.'

    'Hello.'

    'Be mine.'

    'Email me.'

    'OK.'

    '#1.'

    'Hot stuff.'

    'My guy.'

    'My girl.'

    'Date me?'

    'Anytime.'

    'Honey.'

    'Lover.'

    'Yeah baby.'

    'Love u.'

    'Love u.'

    'Sexy.'

    'Baby.'

    'Marry me.'

    'Yes.'

    'Forever.'

    'U and I.'

    'Yes.'

    'OK.'

    'Marry me.'

    'Yes.'

The End
