Howard Dorough (Howie) and Alexander James McLean (AJ) had shared the same vocal coach. This coach thought that it would be a good idea if these two boys met. Then one day the coach introduced them to eachother. After a while Howie and Aj kept running into eachother at talent competitions. They hung out and talked whilt they waited their turn. They found out that they had a lot in common and sometimes even sung together. There was alos another boy who was two years younger than AJ. His name was Nickolas Carter (Nick). Soon these three boys formed a trio and started harmonizing together. They realized that their voices sounded good together. After a while they decided to take their talent to an up and coming lable called 'TRANS CONTINENTAL RECORDS' where they met Louis J. Pearlmen. The boys could harmonize, but somehting was still missing. They needed two more members to make their harmonies richer. Kevin Richardson was working at Disney World as Alladin and a teenage mutant ninja turtle. Kevin wanted to do something with music. So one day his friend told him to go to see these three guys who harmonize all the time. Kevin went and saw them and he was in. They still needed one more member. Then Kevin decided to call his cousin Brian in Lexington, Kentucky. Brian was sitting in the middle of history class on April 20 of 1994 when he got called to the office for a phone call. Brian, ofcourse was thinking that something was terribly wrong. Little did he know that this call would be the biggest break of his life! After Brian got off the phone with Kevin he knew that he had to take this oppurtunity. Brian flew down to Florida the next day to meet his cousin and these other three guys. All it took was an audition and Brian was in. And from that day to this the Backstreet boys were born.
