MY LAW ENFORCEMENT PAGE

Douglas Rodenbaugh
Chief of Police
Madiera Beach, Florida

I returned from WW11 to the USA in Miami, Fl. and was summarily sent to Don Ceasar's in St. Petersburg, Fl. for rehabilitation and discharge. Not wanting to return to my hometown in Barberton, Ohio, I decided to look for a job in Florida. I found a job as a Patrolman which was both a challange and interesting. At that time I decided to make it my career. I went from Patrolman to Sargent and eventually to Chief of Police I attended many classes held by the FBI, and all other schooling available to me.

Graduated from Louisville University

I recieved a letter of commendation from J. Edgar Hoover for work I had done, and spent many days in court testifying on cases which I had personally investigated.

There are many interesting stories, but will save you the reading, as most who read this link will be in that type of work and have lived my stories, and more.

I was elected Constable for a four year term which I fulfilled and when that expired I opened my own Investigation service which was named FACT FINDERS.

During this time I set up the security system for RCA in Miami, and worked many insurance investigations. I worked closely with government offcials in helping to rid the area of organized crime.

My ex-wife had moved to Arizona with our baby son, and I sold my business and moved out west to be closer and more involved with the rearing of my son. I went to work for one of the largest hotel's in Las Vegas (at that time ) the Riveria, as security officer. Later I moved to the Thunderbird Hotel in the same capacity. It was at this time I met my wife Mary, to whom I'm still married.

When we retired in 1981 we decided to move to a small town in the Ozarks. Mountain Home, Arkansas. Finding retirement not to our liking, I became affiliated with the local Sheriff's Department and the City Police. I remain active as a reserve Deputy, for the same Sheriff, Joe Edmonds.
