TODAY'S WORD
Greetings Stephen in the mighty name of our Lord Jesus!

I don’t know about anyone else but these last few days have been a non-stop seismic event of huge proportions.

I have so much flesh that the only way to literally survive each day is to seek the face of my Father. Each of these last few days it seems the trip to center in Him has been quite a bit longer. He has been bringing to the surface subtle questions I was not even sure I had and then answering them in mighty supernatural ways.

In the back of my thinking has always been the awareness that when Christ came the first time, the majority of religious people missed Him. There were two groups:

The majority group expected the Christ would come as a conquering King who would set them free from Rome. And, the minority group expected the Christ would come as a suffering servant.

The majority missed the time of their visitation. Why? Because the Coming Christ did not come in the way they were expecting!

What I am going to share here are not issues concerning salvation, or those things that are basic to our Christian doctrine. But, rather those issues and view points that determine our expectations and our understanding of the past, present and future. These things are new to me and are somewhat in their infancy. I maybe wrong, with what I am going to say but I don’t think so.

Things I had wrong ten years ago concerning what is now on our doorstep had little real impact then. Those same misunderstood views today could cause me to miss the time of my visitation.

“Have you ever felt something was slightly wrong and you just couldn’t put your finger on it?” – The Matrix

The first notable tremor was noticed with the posts concerning the scriptural difference in Ezekiel’s Temple and the Temple that the Temple Mount Society seeks to re-build. Obviously according to God’s Word they are not the same. If the Temple is not rebuilt then the chain of the standard view in America of Daniel and Revelation is broken. If one link is flawed, maybe then others are.

The question I have always had about the Temple sacrifice being interrupted again leapt up. Is not any sacrifice restarted an abomination before Christ who already is our perpetual sacrifice? Another link cracks!

One thing I must say; that whenever I have had a question concerning something, the Father has always being faithful to clarify it. It may have taken Him some time (my problem, not His); but He always explains in His time.

So the Most Holy spirit began to lead me. I find that there are three major ways of interpreting the books of Daniel and Revelation.

1. Futurist -- This is the way I have believed, this is the way I was schooled. The beast of revelation with his mark was not currently here in the present. Rev chapters 4-18 refer to the “end of the age”. We are awaiting the rebuilding of the temple and the revealing of the antichrist, and the resulting tribulation, with its outpouring of the Spirit and the maturing of the Church.

2. Preterist -- This the view held by many liberals, that all of the book of Revelation had already happened and it is only helpful in general ways to all times and peoples.

3. Historicist -- This is the view that the beast was active in the past, is here now and will work till Christ’s second coming. The books of Daniel and Revelation reveal prophetic timelines that go forward from the book of Acts thru the end of the Millennium.

As the Most Holy Spirit began to lead me, I found that the Historicist view was the view that the reformers and the early Church Fathers had. It was the view of Wycliffe, Luther, John Knox, Wesley, Calvin, Matthew Henry, Cottin Mather, Tyndale, Spurgeon and the Martyrs. They identified vigorously the Roman Catholic Church as the beast. In response, Jesuit priests wrote books creating the Preterist view in 1614, and Futurist view in 1591. Preterism was received by some liberals taking pressure off the Catholic church; but the Futurist view died till Darby and Scofield resurrected it about 150 years ago.

The Historicist view believes that for us today the timelines in the Daniel and Revelation have been basically completed except for the outpouring of the seven bowls which brings judgment to the world and Glory and perfection to His remnant. When you look at the detailed verse by verse comparisons against the world and church history, it is convincing. If this view is correct then the Second Coming of out Wondrous Lord could be much closer then we think.

The point the Most Holy Spirit is shaking within me is that many of the timeline benchmarks that have been a part of me from my Christian beginnings maybe wrong.

An example - The Mark

Deuteronomy 6
5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. 6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: 7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. 8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.

We are to place God’s commandment to love Him with all our hearts, soul and might on our hands and between our eyes. In other words we are to use our hands for activities that show our love to Him. And we are to use our minds to meditate and focus on our love for Him.

Revelation 13
16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: 17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

Now what is this a mark? Well up till the euro dollar, the mark was the currency of Germany. Could it not be that the mark of the beast is the love of money. Many mark their hands by using them not for God but for activities that seek money at any cost. Many also mark their mind by focusing solely on greed which is the love of money.

If this is a true interpretation, then how many of those that think they call Christ Lord have already “taken the Mark” by their greed and love of money.

Am I saying this is the true interpretation of these verses; at this point I am not sure. But major spiritual earthquakes are stirring within me.

But, the one thing that I know; that I know awaits ahead us!

Romans 8
19The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed.

God is shaking His Church and this world. And He will have a Church without spot or wrinkle.

May we all be sensitive to the Most Holy Spirit in every subtle way. And may nothing keep us from our day of visitation.

In Christ only do we stand.
