TODAY'S WORD
THE ETERNAL ROUND

You are a believer. You are seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. You know that you have eternal life, and that you are a new creation in Christ Jesus.

Now, you must walk worthy of Him, and you know it.

We know we need to do it, and prophets are telling us that we must commit ourselves to walking in holiness, and we know they are right. One recent prophecy said that Jesus is framing the situation with these words:

"I will not accept a divided heart that is not fully given to Me. I will be Lord, or not at all. I will not compete with the fleshly appetites or the desires of the heart that continually pursue carnal and vain things. There can be no union with Me that is not complete and permanent."

We may know the truth of a matter, but now, there is the doing of it that is before us, and the obtaining of it. We examine ourselves, and we still find many flaws, and sin is still present. We know that we need to humbly and honestly come before God, and plead with Him for our purification and sanctification, but what are some other things the word says about such things? Are there any keys to help us?

Eph 4:1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,

Sometimes, prophetic people focus so much on the things that are before us, that we stumble into a walk that is devoid of joy and gladness. Perhaps we leave off daily praise and worship; we might neglect the word and our prayers become perfunctory. However it might happen, we become “grumpy”. We are not smiling very much. Trouble is on the horizon.

The joy of the Lord is our strength, so when our joy wanes, so does our strength, and we become vulnerable.

I am not postulating. This has happened to me. I do not write as one who is above this experience and process. Deliver me, Lord Jesus!

Deuternonomy 28 47 Because thou servedst not the LORD thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things; 48 Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the LORD shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.

The word says that if we do not serve the Lord with joy and gladness, we bring a curse upon ourselves; we open the door to the enemy, and he will prowl around on the inside until he finds any darkness that remains in us. And he will find it, I assure you.

I had a vision today of a child’s merry go round, as they have had in children’s parks. The standard version has hand bars to hold on to. The children run round and round the toy to “power it up”. Then, when it is whizzing in dizzying circles, they jump on board. The duration of the ride will depend upon an abundance of grease and an absence of rust in the central bearing. The spin needs to be level as well. When the toy gets older, sometimes, a wobble develops, or rust sets in to quickly slow the device down.

As I pondered this, the Lord compared this to the eternal round of my walk with Christ. Explained this way, a walk in the light, and in the spirit, will naturally tend toward a renewal of the mind. Once the mind is renewed, the walk in the light becomes easier and more effortless, and might even allow us to jump on board and enjoy the journey, or the spin for a time. But woe be to the one who allows the spin to slow, or the rust of complacency or grumpiness to set in. The enemy is very adept at applying the brakes almost imperceptibly. Before long, the whole works is fouled, and sin has fully bloomed. A lack of joy and gladness, as I discussed previously, might be compared to that rust. Joy is the grease.

A mind, not renewed, will eventually foul the walk. Likewise, a walk in the darkness will defile the mind. This is the eternal round, in reverse. The enemy loves to set the people of God into reverse, reeling backward into sin and returning to their vomit. I will journey now into the scriptures to examine this “eternal round”. God intended for this round to be a help to us.

1 John 2 5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Ah, so you say, it seems so easy when you say it like that, but read on. There is no darkness in God. But, what about you?

1 John 2 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. 1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. 3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Did you walk in darkness yesterday? You were not a doer of the truth yesterday! Yesterday is gone! How about today? Will you throw today away too? Confess your sin quickly, your advocate Jesus will plead your case before the Father, and you will be made pure and whole quickly and effectively.

Ephesians 4 17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, 18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: 19 Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. 20 But ye have not so learned Christ; 21 If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; 23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

The problem might not be solely with the walk and the action. You might stop doing the thing simply because you fear the Lord, but the enemy still has something he has found in you, and he will not stop coming to you until he stumbles you. Your mind still has not been renewed. What is the solution? You need to be renewed in your mind, but how? What happens when your mind is renewed?

Romans 12 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Jesus cleansed His church with the word….

Eph 5:26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word

I have often adjured people that they need a good brainwashing. Some mockers say that we Christians are brainwashed, and it is good to agree with the adversary in this case, and let it be true of you. Wash your minds with the water of the word of God. Let your minds be washed by reading and speaking psalms, and singing songs and hymns that glorify God. So through the renewing of the mind, we are transformed. Our actions will be made pure when our mind is made pure. But the reverse is true as well. If we are able, by the grace of God, to straighten out our walk, and put away lusts, then the mind will be brought under the Lordship of Christ and we will not give in to our lusts.

Galatians 5 16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

IN ESSENCE: We walk in the light and walk in the Spirit of God. The result reaches even unto the renewing of our minds, which then, in turn, makes the walk in the light easier. Whenever this eternal round is interrupted, problems begin, and sin enters.

Ephesians 4 24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

So, there is a new man to “put on” and an old man to “put off”.

Ephesians 4 25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. 26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: 27 Neither give place to the devil. 28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth. 29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. 30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. 31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: 32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you. 1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; 2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. 3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; 4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.

But, why did you choose to walk in darkness in the first place? Some who are overcome by besetting sin report that it is as though they have no choice in the matter. They are prisoners and captives to sin, and need deliverance. The enemy comes and takes them captive at his will. They need a miracle. Is it just a momentary lapse type of problem where you have committed a sin in a momentary time of weakness, or were you caught in sin by someone, exposed and now you feel you must be publicly contrite? Or is it a sign of a deeper problem? Do you have an idol?

Ephesians 5 5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. 6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. 7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them. 8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

So, there is also an old man to put off. The list is long. It is impossible to do this without a miracle, and that is what it takes, and what the Lord is able to work, if we walk in the light, and we walk by the spirit. You must repent. You must first change direction.

You must do something to begin to get the “eternal round” into motion in the right direction: you must begin the actions that will lead to that spin; that inertia that will ease this process and lead to future success and victory in your life.

Ephesians 5 9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) 10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. 11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. 12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. 13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. 14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. 15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, 16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. 18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; 19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; 20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

And so, it is an eternal “round”, coming back around to 1 John 2:7

7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

THIS WALK: It is believing and being justified by faith, and it is doing; It is putting on the new man, and putting off the old man; It is being transformed by the renewing of the mind; It is walking in the light, and quickly confessing the sins done in the darkness and then committing to stay out of the darkness; It is being awake, and shaking off the sleep and sometimes falling asleep and waking up again; It is walking in the Spirit, so that you will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.

And it is humbly knowing that 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Over time, your walk should be conducted more and more in the light of God. That is my prayer for each of you, and for myself: That we might all be strengthened in the inner man, and that we might walk worthy of the one who bought us with His blood. And each of you will have your own times to stand; to submit to God and to resist the devil, or you will fall, and behold the face of the master, urging each of you to get up quickly, and confess your sins, for we have much work to do.

There is a cascading effect to sin: one sin will lead to progressively more and worse sin. Likewise, a walk in the light and the spirit will lead progressively to more of the same, and better.

More and more, the prophets are speaking of a time when God will require those who will be joined to Him to permanently do it, and go no more out. That is speaking of the marriage. We are presently betrothed to Him. He is coming for a bride: without spot or blemish. Those whom He will marry will enter into the eternal round and will not be slowed down, falling into sin again and again. Certainly, if you long for Jesus, this is your desire. For this to happen, a miracle must ensue; a transformation. Perhaps, this is what Paul referred to in his famous scripture that most have taken to be the rapture, where Paul said that some would be changed in the twinkling of an eye.

No, you cannot do it on your own. So, get back into the light and under the blood of Christ before something worse happens to you. Do your best to keep the eternal round in motion. We each wait for the Lord to complete the miracle. Amen.
