Car  Models
Latest update - October 21, 2001
-----------------------------------

I had been building car models since before 1960. Hot rods being my preference. These old models are, unfortunately, long gone. When slot racing became the rage in the early 60's, I went into that head over heels. I worked part time outside of my regular job in a couple of slot  racing shops that had built large tracks to financially justify my habit.

In the fall of 1998, the dealership that my daughter is comptroller of, got in a yellow Plymouth Prowler that I made much ado over and  thoroughly examined. That Xmas, she and the grandkids got me AMT's Prowler kit.

Being set off again, I tackled the Chevy stepside. I wanted to build it as a slammed pro streeter.

11/10/99  --  I have moved this '32 coupe out of the projects, but the photos of the finished car didn't turn out real great. But I'm showing them now, anyway.... click HERE

Unchopped, full fendered, dropped, channeled, and sectioned from the bottom, Revell's 32 coupe close to paint stage. I wish, now, I had taken a little more off the bottom to get the look I wanted. The grill and shell have been sectioned. I have tried some engine wiring here for the first time.

I got a Mad Magazine funny car kit by Revell just to have some goodies for the Chevy stepside. Then I had to get another one because I found that I wanted to build the car, without the body

Strictly kit, except for rigging up the drag chutes on the wheelie bar. I am thinking now, of redoing this  someday, as a fuel altered, when I come across the right body.

AMT  '40 Ford Panel Delivery. Pretty much box stock. I have dropped it a little in the front, frenched the headlights, and added 3 stromberg carbs to the flathead V8. It's about ready for the body color and final assembling
Kind of lost patience with this after a couple of painting mishaps and threw it together.
Resorted to decal for flames on door panels.

I have named this "Butt - ugli".
Revell's '34 Thom Taylor Cabriolet.
After cutting the body and holding the roof section of the Mad Magazine Funny Car in place, I had the feeling that I just trashed a perfectly good roadster body. The rear window is grafted from the roadster's top. I plan this to be full fendered. We'll see how it turns out.
11/14/2000 This model has been put on the back burner for a while.
10/ 21/2001 - dug Buttugli out and got it ready to paint but humidity staying in the 70-80% bracket.
