•The Greyhound Tracks, Grey2k and HSUS Bill to reduce or eliminate Live Greyhound Racing died on the Senate Calender.
•The Tracks attempt to get Slot machines was killed in the Florida House tonight.
•The Tracks attempts to get additional Tax Cuts failed.
I would like to congratulate Jim Blanchard who coordinated the FGA/NGA Members Legislative Grassroots Program in Tallahassee.

Here are the links to the Bills filed in the House of Representative and the Florida Senate on behalf of the greyhound permitholders. We have told you this fight was this Session - and here it is! Anyone with an interest in Pari-Mutual Sports in Florida, need to read these Bills and be prepared to join the fight against the race tracks. Many believed this would never happen - well here's your proof!
Pari-mutuel Permitholders: Provides that a greyhound permitholder shall not be required to conduct a minimum number of live performances. Revises requirements for an application for a license to conduct performances. Provides an extended period to amend certain applications. Removes a requirement for holders of certain converted permits to conduct a full schedule of live racing to qualify for certain tax credits, etc. Effective Date: 07/01/2011

Global Greyhounds.com sponsored another very successful auction/ fundraiser for the Florida Greyhound Association lobbying efforts in Florida. The one day event raised over $26,000. The FGA's Board of Directors are very appreciative to all the donors and bidders who made February 27th so very special.
