One of the smaller associations in our link,the Bonita Greyhound Association has been one of the most dynamic. President of the group is James Blanchard, who is also one of the 2 NGA Directors in Florida. The Naples/Ft. Myers Greyhound Track is located in Bonita Springs on the lower west coast of our State. It is the sister track to the Flagler Greyhound Track, located in the Greater Miami Area. A small operation, the race track operates year around with the winter months being the busiest. And, this makes for a hard summer for most of the kennel booked there.
As is true with many small tracks, many greyhounds begin their racing careers here - but many more end them too. The adopt-a-pet program is extremely active in this locale and three different people handle pet placements. Both the track and kennels in Naples.Ft. Myers are participants in the adoptions of greyhounds.
