(TALLAHASSEE, Fla.) The Department of Business and Professional Regulation celebrated another step forward in the re-engineering project that will create a one-stop-shop for those conducting business in the state of Florida. The Division of Pari-Mutuel Wagering’s licensees are now able to perform numerous functions online.
“We are excited about implementing better business practices to serve our customers,” said DBPR Secretary Kim Binkley-Seyer. “The project creates an environment that supports public self-service and agency responsiveness. Through the Internet portal and the Interactive Voice Response System, the department is available to serve our customers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.”
Now in the ninth month of the 24-month project, the department has brought Real Estate and Pari-Mutuel Wagering licensees online, and anticipates bringing another large group of licensees, including all those in the construction industry, online in January 2002. “We have been developing ways to serve our customers better, faster and smarter. By cross-utilizing resources and streamlining processes we increase department efficiency while reducing costs for services,” said Binkley-Seyer.
“The department is analyzing every detail of our business processes and developing solutions that will increase our operational effectiveness. We recognize the need to align business processes and technology with client needs, leverage economies of scale, eliminate redundancy, and discontinue outdated processes that do not add value to Florida licensees or serve to protect the public,” concluded Binkley-Seyer.
Licensees are encouraged to check out the new information available at Florida License Site and provide feedback to the Department at DBPR Secretary.
