DEATH CALLS LOCAL WOMAN

Mrs. Cora Woolford Hollinger Dies Following Lingering Illness

Mrs. Cora M. Woolford Hollinger, 69, 1206 N. Wasson street, died at St. Mary’s hospital at 12:25 a. m. today following an illness of two years’ duration.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:30 p. m. from the Winterrowd chapel with burial occuring in Long Point cemetery.

The daughter of Frank and Ida (Willavize) Reed, the decaesed was born March 16, 1891 in Rutland. She was united in marriage with Albert Woolford in Streator Nov. 29, 1911. Mr. Woolford preceded his wife in death in 1936.

Surviving are five children, Frank R. Woolford, Mrs. Virgil (Catherine) Freese and Mrs. Michael (Alberta) Brennan, all of this city; Harry Woolford of Ottawa, and Arthur Woolford of Chicago. Also left is a sister, Mrs. Andy (Liza) Anderson of Streator. There are 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Hollinger was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Harriet, three sisters, one brother and her parents.

She had resided in Streator since a child and was a member of Rebekah Lodge 468, the Sunshine Club, Past Noble Grand Club and was secretary and treasurer of the Past Noble Grand Club.

The Rebekah Lodge ritual will be given at 8 a. m. Saturday at the funeral home. Visitation will start after 4 p. m. Saturday until the hour of the service.

Methodist Pastor Officiates At Hollinger Rites

Funeral services for Mrs. Cora Woolford Hollinger, 69, 1206 North Wasson street, a lifelong resident of the Rutland and Streator vicinities, who died at St. Mary’s hospital Thursday forning following a prolonged illness, were held Sunday afternoon at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Interment was in the Long Point cemetery.

Rev. Clyde Friend, pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiated at the 2:30 o’clock service. Mrs. Clinton Madden and Mrs. Richard Merhur sang two duets accompanied by Mrs. Donald Viland at the organ.

Serving as pallbearers were Harold Stewart, Gerald Pilcher, Marion Miller, Paul Woolford, Robert Woolford and John Sampson. The men of Rebekah Lodge No. 468 were the honorary pallbearers. Mesdames Betty Pilcher, Bonnie Stewart and Shirley Miller were in charge of the floral tributes.

Many friends and relatives from Chicago, Ottawa, Detroit, Mich., Lacon, Washburn, La Salle, Oglesby, Marseilles, Joliet, Wenona and the surrounding communities attended the services.
