THOMAS SARTAIN DIED SUDDENLY
WELL KNOWN CONTRACTOR PASSED AWAY AT HOME ON E. LA
RUE STREET
Thomas Franklin Sartain, well known contractor of this city passed away suddenly at his home at 107 E La Rue street about 6 o’clock last evening. His death was attributed to a hemorriage of the brain.
The deceased was apparently in the best of health yesterday and had worked the greater part of the day. Late in the afternoon in company of his wife, they went motoring and returned home about 5:30 o’clock. About 6:15 Mr Sartain sat down in a chair and commenced reading and it was just a few minutes latter when he fell to the floor stricking his head on a part of the sideboard nearby.
Mrs. Sartain immediately called a physician who on arrival stated that death had been almost instaneous and a result of the cause given above.
The deceased was born in the state of Iowa on April 27, 1872. He was later united in marriage, his wife preceding him in death. On August 1, 1921 he was again united in marriage to Pauline Hepler Haldeman of El Paso who with the son Harold is left to morn his passing. He is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Mollie Dominan of Minnesota, Mrs. Goldie Cook of Hammond, Ind., and William and Clifford Sartain of this city.
The funeral services will be held from the residence at 10:30 o’clock Wednesday morning with Rev. Monroe officiaring. Internment will be made at Riverview cemetary.
Mr. Sartain has resided in this town for the last fifteen years during which time he was engaged in the plastering and contracting business. He was a member of the I. O. O. P. lodge of this city, and took an active intrest in all the affairs of that order and his passing has caused considerable sorrow by his many friends.
