Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon in St. Paul’s Luthern church by Pastor Walter H. Ruth, and internment will be made in Riverview cemetery. Brief rites will be held in the home of another daughter, Mrs. Ted Williams, 1206 Bridge St., at 1:30 o’clock. The body will be taken to the Williams home at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon, and friends may call there until the hour of the service.
The son of the late John and Elizabeth Hefler, the decedent was born in El Paso (IL) September 30, 1870. He was married to Sarah Schimmel in Eureka October 30, 1895, and they became the parents of ten children, all of whom are living. Mr. Hefler had resided in and around El Paso and for 25 years in Streator, making his home the past year with Mrs. Schorn.
Surviving are: the children, Mrs. Fred Schorn, Harry, William, Virgil, Delbert, and Eugene Hefler and Mrs. Ted Williams of Streator, Esra (Ezra) Hefler of Edwardsburg, Mich., Mrs. Robert Russel of Clinton, and Mrs. Raymond Donoho od Dowagiac, Mich.; one brother, George Hefler of Fairmont, Minn., two sisters, Mrs Chris Schaefer and Mrs. Philip Roth of El Paso; 18 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral services for William Hefler were held from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ted Williams, 1206 Bridge Street at 1:30 o'clock Saturday, and from St. Paul’s Luthern church at two, Rev. Walter Ruth officiating. Betty Jane Picker and Martha Donen sang, Eunice Mueller accompanying at the organ.
Paullbearers were Harry Hefler, Jr., Paul Williams, Robert Hefler, Claude Shelby, Joseph Donoho, and William Hefler. Mrs. Bert Williams, Mrs. Hattie Shelby, Mrs. Lyle Irwin and Mrs. Lila Zimmerman had charge of the flowers. Burial occurred in Riverview cemetery.
