The JWL- Episode 75

DON CARSON 1934-2013

REID FLAIR 1988-2013

Live from the Greensboro Memorial Coliseum in Greensboro, NC

We do ten-bell counts for Don Carson and Reid Flair. R.I.P.

Your hosts are Scott Hudson and Mike Tenay.

(We go back to DH Smith defeating Johnny Nitro last week, Aksana walking out, taking one look at Johnny, and Melina screaming and beating her up for it.)

Johnny Nitro (w/Melina Perez) vs. Tyson Kidd (w/Natalya Neidhart)

Scott lets us know that Johnny wanted to try his luck against the other member of the Hart Dynasty this week.

Another excellent technical match, as both guys come up with exciting moves for several minutes, as Melina and Nattie yell encouragement. Tyson takes control and goes for the Sharpshooter, but Johnny counters with an inside cradle for 2. Johnny comes back and hits Moonlight Drive and follows with Starship Pain for the win at 7:30.

LG: Here is your winner, JOHNNY NITRO!

The A-List celebrate the win, as the Hart Dynasty regroups.

Aksana walks out again, and, this time, she attacks Melina. She decks Nattie as well! Scott and Mike are surprised by this, but it becomes clear once Trevor Murdoch, Vladimir Kozlov and the Burmese Python all make their way out and beat up both Nitro AND Tyson! Daivari International has laid out the A-List and 2/3 of the Hart Dynasty!

Khosrow Daivari walks out, gives the payoffs to his employees, and takes the mic.

DAIVARI: Last week, Aksana made a mistake and suffered for it. This week, she remembered the company policy. A-List, Hart Dynasty, like I have said before, all of this is on YOUR hands.

Daivari International celebrate their accomplishment and leave. EMTs make their way out to help the A-List and the Hart Dynasty.

Jimmy Wang Yang vs. Shoichi Funaki (w/TAKA Michinoku)

Just fantastic high-flying action which thrills the crowd. They go back and forth for several minutes. TAKA tries to interfere, but Jimmy takes him out with a dive through the ropes. Back in the ring, he takes over on Funaki and finishes with Yang Time at 7:30.

LG: Here is your winner, JIMMY WANG YANG!

The Dalton Brothers (Jesse and Festus) vs. The Nasty Boys (w/Dusty Rhodes)

The timekeeper rings the bell to start the match, and Festus goes crazy again. He attacks both of the Nasty Boys, and they actually roll out to the floor to figure out a strategy. They decide that Knobbs should start the match, so he and Festus brawl. Festus actually overpowers Knobbs, until Sags gets in a cheap shot from the outside. Dusty distracts referee Nick Patrick, allowing the Nasties to double-team Festus, as best as they can, but they can not get him down. Jesse runs over to where Dusty is and dropkicks him, tells Patrick to pay attention to the match, and runs back to his corner. Festus fights back, throwing the Nasties around, and makes the hot tag to Jesse. Jesse comes in and relies on aerial offense for a time, but the Nasties are able to overpower him, putting Jesse in the face-in-peril role for a few minutes. Jesse escapes, but Dusty knocks over the timekeeper and rings the bell, thus stopping Festus. Unfortunately, as there is nothing in the rulebook to prevent this, Jesse is now essentially doomed. The Nasties take over and finish with the Pitstop Elbow at 8:30.

LG: Here are your winners, THE NASTY BOYS!

The Nasties continue beating up Jesse after the match, with Festus unable to make the save. The World's Greatest Tag Team and 911 from the Dangerous Alliance run in and send the heels packing. With Dusty now gone, 911 walks over to the bell and rings it, thus waking up Festus again. Haas and Benjamin ask Jesse what to do, and he tells them to ring it again so Festus can calmly walk to the back, and they do. The Daltons walk to the back, with 911 watching.

Masato Tanaka vs. Trevor Murdoch

These two bruisers do not hold back. They go back and forth with real intensity and the fans love it. Each guy gets some 2-counts on the other. Murdoch gets control and goes for the Ace of Spades (sunset flip powerbomb while seated on the top turnbuckle), but Tanaka backdrops out of it. Tanaka comes back with the Rolling Elbow and finishes with the Sliding D for the pin at 7:00, thus handing Murdoch his first loss in the JWL.

LG: Here is your winner, MASATO TANAKA!

Tanaka celebrates the win with the fans, until Daivari makes his way out, with Vladimir Kozlov and the Burmese Python. Tanaka grabs a chair to fend them off, and, since this is MASATO TANAKA, Daivari International takes the hint and backs away.

Out of nowhere, Tanaka gets attacked by a black guy with high hair and a second bigger and more muscular black guy, followed by a third black guy in a suit and tie.

The guy in the suit takes the mic.

“Hello, my name is Byron Saxton, your new Program Director. What this show has just experienced was a ratings pop. Your attention has suddenly been drawn back to the show even though the match had ended and seemingly nothing interesting was happening. Please allow me to introduce the two gentlemen in the ring at this time. I give you Darren Young (high hair) and Titus O'Neil (bigger and more muscular), the Prime Time Players and the newest and best tag team in the JWL. We are coming for the JWL World Tag Team Titles since we guarantee higher ratings for this show anytime that we are on the screen. Until next time, this is Byron Saxton, Program Director, signing off. Good night.

Young and O'Neil do the Millions of Dollars Millions of Dollars dance. Saxton and the Prime Time Players leave to boos.

Main Event: The World's Greatest Tag Team (Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas) (w/Paul E. Dangerously and 911) vs. The Royal Assassins (Randy Orton and Dave Batista, w/Jerry "The King" Lawler)

Lillian lets us know that Commissioner Foley has banned Paul E, 911 and Lawler from ringside.

The match starts, and Shelton and Orton go back and forth for a few minutes, until Batista gets in a cheap shot to put Shelton in Ricky Morton mode. The Royal Assassins take over, drawing great heat. However, they can not put Shelton away. Batista delivers a Spinebuster and looks to be going for the Batista Bomb, but Shelton escapes and somehow gets to the corner to make the hot tag to Haas. Charlie comes in and is relentless. After a few more minutes of action, Haas actually gets Batista in the Haas of Pain! Orton runs in to break it up but Shelton takes him out with a T-Bone Suplex! Batista tries to fight back but there is nowhere for him to go. Batista TAPS OUT at 10:30!

LG: Here are your winners, THE WORLD'S GREATEST TAG TEAM!

Jerry Lawler leads the Rock and Christian out to attack the WGTT. Paul E. follows with 911, Samoa Joe and Bobby Lashley and the DA and the Royals brawl around to end the show.
