Chapter 4

There was a knock at the front door of Mandy and Araysa’s apartment. Mandy went to answer the door and it was the florist with 4 dozen red roses. Two dozen for Mandy and two for Araysa. It had been 5 months since the girls saw the Backstreet Boys for the first time. They e-mailed and wrote letters to Nick and Brian a few times. There were also a couple phone calls that were made. Mandy and Araysa were busy with school and work and the guys were busy with their tour and recording a new album. So they really didn’t have time to communicate too much. Mandy and Araysa missed Brian and Nick a lot.

“Araysa.” Mandy yelled from across the apartment. Araysa came out of her room to find Mandy standing in the middle of 4 dozen roses.

“What the heck?!” Araysa’s mouth dropped open.

“Two dozen for you and two dozen for me. Here is the card that came on yours.” Mandy handed Araysa the card. Araysa’s card read: I miss you so much and I can’t wait to hold you in my arms again. Love, Nick. Mandy’s card read: You are the best thing that has happened to me and I can’t stop thinking about you. All my love, Brian.

“Do you think that we should call and thank them?” Mandy asked Araysa.

“Do you know where they are at?”

“Umm, I think they should be in Orlando right now. I could call Brian’s cell phone. He has that with him at all times.” Mandy answered Araysa’s question.

“Sure. You call Brian and find out where Nick is and then I will call him.” Araysa said. Mandy got Brian’s number and called him.

“Hallo.” Brian said when he answered the phone.

“Hey!! How are you?” Mandy said with the biggest grin on her face.

“Mandy! I am so happy to hear your voice. It’s been a while, I almost forgot what you sounded like.”

“I just wanted to call and thank you so much for the flowers. That was so sweet. I love them, they are the most beautiful roses I have ever seen.”

“You are more then welcome. I am sure they are not as beautiful as you.” Mandy blushed even though he couldn’t see her.

“Do you know where Nick is? Araysa would like to thank him too.”

“He is right here.”

“Ok, let me go get her.” Mandy called Araysa over to the phone.

“Bye Brian. Thanks again. Take care and Keep the Backstreet pride alive.” Mandy said as she chuckled.

“I sure will sweetie, you too. Bye.” Brian said as he snickered. He passed the phone to Nick and Mandy passed the phone to Araysa. She thanked him and they talked for a couple of minutes. Araysa had to go to class so she had to cut the conversation short.

Another five months passed and they hadn’t heard from Brian and Nick since the day they sent the roses. Mandy and Araysa were beginning to think that that was their way of saying good bye. The guys were going to be coming to Minneapolis in 3 weeks and Mandy and Araysa had their tickets bought, their outfits picked out and everything. They were so pumped to go to the concert. It was almost like they were going for the first time. In a way they were scared as to what was might happen when they were there. They were afraid that Brian and Nick would act like they had no idea who they were. Mandy and Araysa’s seats were second row on the floor. So they were bound to see them.

“Mandy, something came in the mail for you today and it has no return address on it.” Araysa handed Mandy a medium sized padded envelope. Mandy opened it and to her surprise there were two backstage passes in it to the concert in Minneapolis. Mandy couldn’t say anything; she just stood there with a confused look on her face.

“What is it?” Araysa asked as she grabbed the envelope out of Mandy’s hand.

“Guys confuse me. They don’t talk to you forever and then they do this. I mean are we just their girls when they are in town?” Mandy said a little ticked off.

“They need to quit playing games with our hearts.” Araysa said with a big grin on her face. They both started to laugh. They knew how to pick each other up when the other was feeling down.

********************************

“Mandy, come on!” Araysa yelled, “We are gonna be late.” It was the night of the concert and they had to get there so they could get backstage before it was too late.

“Ok, I am ready. Lets go.” Mandy said out of breath. They got in the car and flew to the Target Center. They were lead back to the same room as last year when they met the guys for the first time. When they walked in there were roses, teddy bears, and chocolates all over the room. They sat there for a few minutes when A.J, Kevin, and Howie came in the room.

“Hey ladies. I did it! I didn’t mess up.” A.J. said very proud of his accomplishment.

“Hi. How have you guys been?” Araysa asked as she gave them all hugs.

“Good, but busy.” Kevin said.

“Yeah. We have been touring, recording our new album and stuff like that.” Howie said. Mandy and Araysa looked at each other and tried not to laugh.

“Soooo, were are Brian and Nick?” Mandy asked.

“They were running late. They should be here shortly. But we have to go do sound checks so we will talk to you guys later.” Kevin excused them.

“Ok, see you later.” Mandy said. Her and Araysa sat there and waited for 15 minutes when Brian and Nick walked in. They literally ran over to them and gave them a hug and a kiss.

“Well, hello.” Mandy said. As soon as she held Brian in her arms again the hole in her heart was filled.

“I can see you guys got lots of things sent to you this time.” Araysa said as she looked around the room. Brian and Nick looked at each other and smiled.

“All this is for you ladies.” Nick said as he kissed Araysa on the forehead. Mandy and Araysa were so happy. Its like they picked up where they left off. They weren’t upset with them anymore for not talking to them in months. They sat down and talked and talked and talked.

“Mandy, I have missed you so much. I feel so bad that I have not kept in contact more. But I want you to know that you were always on my mind.” Brian said as he leaned in and gave Mandy a kiss.

“Brian, that is so sweet. There was not a day that went by that I didn’t think of you. I am so happy to see you again.” Mandy responded. Denise walked in and said that the guys had to get going since they already missed most of the sound check. They kissed and said good-bye.

Mandy and Araysa went out and took their seats and watched the rest of the sound check. When the sound check was over Mandy and Araysa went and grabbed something to eat. They got back just as the opening act started. Aaron, Nick’s little brother, was the opening act. He was so cute and full of energy. He played for about 45 minutes, and then there was a half-hour till the guys came on. When they came out they had new outfits and a new stage set-up. The concert was great. They sang “That’s The Way I Like It” and dedicated it to Araysa and Mandy because they knew how much they liked the dance to that. Every time that the guys pointed to someone in the audience Brian and Nick always pointed to Mandy and Araysa. They guys played the instruments to “Quit Playing Games (With My Heart)”. While they were playing that song Mandy felt a tap on her shoulder. It was Tommy from the band.

“Hey girls! Here are a couple backstage passes for after the concert. The guys asked me to bring them out to you. So see you later.” Tommy handed the girls the passes and left. Mandy and Araysa looked at each other with biggest grins on their faces. They kept singing and dancing along with the rest of the concert. It was soon over though. They went to the bathroom to freshen up before they went back to see their men.

“Wasn’t that concert da bomb?” a little teeny booper asked Araysa.

“Umm, yeah it was great.” Araysa replied as she looked at Mandy and tried not to laugh. They were ready so they walked to the door that would take them backstage. The security guard remembered them from earlier so he just told them to go back to the same room as before. They went back and the guys were there eating with the band, parents and a few other people that the girls didn’t know. Brian saw them walk through the door and he put his plate down and came over and greeted them.

“I am so happy Tommy got those passes to you guys.” Brian said as he gave Mandy a kiss and Araysa a hug.

“So are we.” Mandy said as she kissed Brian again. The girls really didn’t know all the band members and their family member so Brian introduced everyone to Mandy and Araysa. They all were talking when Brian pulled Mandy to the side. He hugged her and whispered into her ear.

“Baby, I love you with all my heart. I got a room of my own at the hotel tonight and I want you to stay with me.” Mandy couldn’t resist his sexy voice, she loved him too so she told him she would stay but that she couldn’t promise him anything.

“I understand honey, I just want you to be close to me.” Brian said. He respected Mandy so much and she loved that. That is one of the main things that she looked for in a man. Mandy walked over to Araysa who was talking to Nick and his mom.

“I am going to be staying with Brian tonight, so I won’t be home tonight.” Araysa smiled and gave Mandy a hug.

“Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do. Do you mind if Nick stays at the house tonight?”

“No, not at all. Talk to you later. Bye”

“Bye.” Araysa went back to talking to Nick and his mom. Mandy walked back over to Brian who was saying goodbye to his parents and his brother.

“I am so happy that I got to meet you all.” Mandy said as she hugged Brian’s parents and brother.

“I am glad I finally got to meet this Mandy that Brian has been talking so much about.” Brian’s mom said with a smile. Brian took Mandy’s hand and they left. They got in the limo that took them to the Hilton. They got to the room, when Brian turned the lights on Mandy noticed the bed was covered in rose petals. She looked at Brian and gave him the longest, most passionate kiss she had ever given him. Mandy loved the sweet little things that he did. Brian was such a gentleman and a romantic kind of guy. Mandy loved it.

“Brian, I want you to be my first.” Mandy said as she nibbled on Brian’s ear.

“Are you sure? I don’t want you to do anything you don’t want to.” Brian asked in the most romantic, understanding voice.

“Yes, I have never been more sure about anything in my life.” Mandy said as she walked Brian over to the bed of roses.
