Nick looked up from his game and smiled.
“Hey, how’s it going. Hold on, I’ll be done in a sec.”
“Yea right Frack, you’ll be done in a sec. We’ll just be in the front, when you are done come and find us.” Brian said with a laugh.
Brian, Mandy, and I went back up the front of the bus and sat down. I sat on the floor, Brian sat on the couch, and Mandy sat at the table.
“I’m sorry, but I didn’t get your names earlier.” Brian said.
"I’m Araysa.”
“And I’m Mandy.”
“Hello, nice to meet you.” Brian said as he shook both of our hands.
"Where are you girls from?”
“I’m from LaCrosse, WI orginally and Mandy is from Austin, MN originally.” I stated.
“We are roommates though at Winona State University in Winona, MN. We are both sophomores.” Mandy said.
“That’s cool. I want to go to college. So does Nick, he wants to play basketball so bad.” Brian said.
“I think that it would be awesome if you guys went to college. I know both of you would be awesome ball players.” Mandy said.
“So how do you like Wisconsin?” I asked.
Before Brian could answer we heard another voice.
“It’s freaking cold!!”
“Well, you guys are just lucky that it’s not snowing yet.” Mandy said as I started to laugh.
“What’s so funny?” Brian asked
"Oh nothing, I was just remembering that AJ said it was cold when we met him in Minneapolis and that was a month ago. And it was about twenty degrees warmer!!” I said.
“You Florida boys have it too easy.” Mandy said.
“Hey we get bad weather. Hurricanes, thunder storms, tornadoes.” Nick stated.
For the next couple of hours we talked about everything. What we wanted to do after college, what the guys were going to after the tour, and just about everything else you could think of. The entire time I kept glancing and staring at Nick. Whenever I would look at him he was looking at me. One time he really caught me looking and smiled. I could’ve melted right then and there. Pretty soon everybody was starting to yawn and look sleepy.
“Hey, we better get going. We have to find a hotel really soon or else we are going to be sleeping in our car tonight.” I said as I started to get up.
“Hey, don’t worry about it. You girls can crash here if you want to.” Brian said motioning me to sit down.
“Ummmm...this doesn’t exactly look like a Holiday Inn or even a Super 8.” Mandy said with hesitation.
“We got out of Madison earlier than we thought so we decided to just sleep here. We have heat, TV, electricity, and a generator. Everything you need.” Nick said.
“Well, I guess if it’s okay with you guys, we will stay. I have to pull my car around here though because it has all of our clothes and stuff.” I said.
“No problem, just knock on the door and we will open it for ya.” Nick said with a smile.
We got off the bus and made our way over to where our car was parked. I was in daze and then I snapped out of it and turned to Mandy.
“Can you fucking believe this!!!” I yelled.
“No, I can’t. This is crazy. Stuff like this just doesn’t happen. The only problem, is this the right thing to do? I mean you know that this isn’t going to last forever. We have to go our separate ways tomorrow.” Mandy said.
“Yea, I know. But let’s savor the moment right now. I’m sure that they will at least keep in touch with us. I mean we are sleeping in their bus with them. It’s not just like a typical BSB meeting you know.”
“That’s true. Whatever happens, happens.” Mandy said.
I pulled the car into a spot right next to Brian and Nick’s bus. We got out and got all of our stuff out of the trunk that we would need. I knocked on the door to the bus and was greeted with a smiling Nick. Mandy and I got on the bus and saw that the guys had already laid out blankets and pillows for us.
“Here you go ladies. We know it’s not exactly a king size bed but it will have to do.” Brian said.
“Oh, no problem. We are so thankful that you are even letting us stay on here with you.” Mandy said back.
“Okay, well good night girls. We will talk to ya in the morning. We have an alarm set for like 10am or so.” Nick said as him and Brian went into their bunk area.
“Good night guys. Thanks again.” I said back.
Mandy and both got under the covers and made ourselves comfortable. Then all of the lights went off. I laid for a bit just thinking about the looks that Nick was giving me. I liked him so much and I wanted to see if he liked me too. I knew that I never would have an opportunity like this again. As soon as my eyes adjusted to the light I quietly got up and made my way to the bunks. I remember which one was Nick’s from when they gave us a tour of the bus earlier. I breathed deep and peeked in to his bunk. To my surprise he wasn’t sleeping. As soon as I opened the curtain he looked over and smiled.
“Hi.” I whispered.
“Hey, I thought you would probably come back here.” Nick whispered back.
“I don’t want to wake Brian but can I come up there with ya?” I boldly asked.
“Sure, let me move over to make room.” Nick said as he shifted over.
I climbed up into the bunk and laid my head on his pillow next to his head. I put my arm down next to his arm and to my even bigger surprise he took my hand. I got these butterflies in my stomach and I had to close my eyes as I got a little lightheaded. We laid like that for a little bit and then I turned to him and said in a low voice so as not to wake up Brian.
“How come you thought I would come back here?”
“Well, I saw the way you were looking at me and I’m sure you saw the way I was looking at you.” Nick answered.
“Yea, I did.” I said with a grin.
“Well, I’m glad that you came back here because it gives me a chance to do this...”
Before I knew what was happening Nick’s lips were on mine. All I could think of was “Holy shit, I can’t believe that this is happening.” The kiss began to deepen soon Nick and I were making out. I couldn’t believe how good of a kisser he was. As we were kissing Nick’s hand would come up and caress my face or my hair. He was just being so gentle. Then Nick decided to go a little further and he started to take off my shirt. I got kind of freaked and stopped him.
“Don’t worry, this is as far as I’m going to go.” Nick said as he started to kiss my neck.
For the next couple of hours we would kiss and then talk for bit and then kiss some more. Finally, I started to yawn.
“Nick, I’m getting really tired. Is it okay if I sleep up here or do you want me go back to where Mandy is?”
“No, you can sleep up here. I’m comfortable. Are you?” Nick asked.
“Yes, I’m very comfortable.” I said.
“Good, well, good night and sweet dreams girl.” Nick said as he gave me one last kiss.
I feel asleep right away with a smile on my face and awesome thoughts in my mind.
