Sealed With A Kiss

“Daddy.” Jordan said as she walked over and crawled up on her dad’s lap.

“Yes baby?” Brian said.

“How did you and mommy meet?” she asked curiously.

“Well angel, about seven years ago I was doing a concert with your Uncles, Kevin, Nick, Howie and AJ up in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Your mommy went to that concert. She heard from someone that we were spending the night at the Hyatt.”

“What’s the Hyatt?” she asked.

“It’s a hotel, a very nice one. We were staying there and when we got to the hotel your mommy was waiting outside for us.”

“Why?” Jordan asked.

“Mommy is a really big Backstreet Boys fan and she wanted to meet us. When I got out of the van she walked over to me and asked for an autograph and a picture. I told her sure. When I looked up I saw the most beautiful girl in the world.”

“Mommy?” Jordan said with a big grin.

“Yes, your mommy. I gave her an autograph and got my picture taken with her. She handed me a piece of paper. I took it and put it in my pocket. I went upstairs to my room and sat on the bed. I took out the paper and read it. It had your mommy’s phone number, name and e-mail address on it. I just sat there and looked at it for a while.”

“Did you call her?” Jordan asked eagerly.

“Just a second sweetie, I’m getting there.” Jordan looked deep into her dad’s eyes as she listened to him tell his story. “I put the paper in my wallet and didn’t think about it for a month or so. We were busy with the tour and I didn’t have time to call her. It was December and the tour was over. Uncle AJ and I were at McDonald’s getting lunch. I took money out of my wallet and I saw the paper from your mom. I called her that night. At first she didn’t believe it was me, but the more we talked she realized it really was me. I found out that she was going to New York for New Years Eve and we were doing a show there that night so we decided to get together. When the ball fell at midnight we kissed for the first time. It was really nice. That is when I fell in love with your mommy. We got together every chance we could. Then five years ago we were back in Minneapolis doing another concert. When the concert was over I took your mom back to the hotel that I first saw her at two years ago. We got out of the van, I took her hand and got down on one knee and said, ‘Two years ago I saw you standing here and thought that you were the most beautiful girl in the world and as I got to know you more I realized you are the most beautiful girl in the world. I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you be my wife?’ Through the tears and sobs I heard her say yes. It was one of the happiest days of my life. Three months later we had a private wedding with our closest family and friends on Uncle Kevin’s ranch in Kentucky. It was beautiful. Nine months after that, you were here.”

“Now I am four.” Jordan said.

“Yes, you are my big girl.” Brian said with a smile.

“Do you still love mommy like that?” she asked.

“No, I don’t love your mommy like that anymore.”

“You don’t?” Jordan looked confused.

“I love her more and more everyday. Just like I love you more everyday. You girls are my angels. Brian said as a tear rolled down his face.

“I love you too daddy.” Jordan said and gave Brian a kiss on the cheek. “I’m gonna go play now.” She said as she ran to her room.

“Ok baby.” Brian got up and went to his bedroom. He opened his closet and took out a box. He opened the box and took out a piece of paper and read it out loud…

He smiled and folded it back up and put it away. Brian walked downstairs to the kitchen where Mandy was making supper. He put his hands on her pregnant belly, “I love you, forever.” He said with a kiss.
