We arrived at the hair salon in time for our appointments. The second we got there each of us was wisked away to get ready for the awards tonight.
“Hi, my name is Sergio and I will be doing your hair and make up for you this afternoon. So, who’s your date for tonights festivites?” Sergio said.
“I’m being escorted by Nick Carter from the Backstreet Boys.” I said back.
“Oh, yea. Their music is good to groove too. They play it in the clubs a lot. So what kind of style are you looking for today?” He asked.
“I’m not really sure. Can you just do something? You are the professional, I’m sure whatever you do will be great.” I said back.
“Okay, then let’s get started!” Sergio said as he clapped his hands and two assistants came to get me ready.
I was sitting in the chair for a little bit when Mandy, Molly, Ashley were sat in chairs around me. We all thought that this would be a great time to discuss all of our evenings.
“So Mandy, what happened betwteen Brian and you after Nick and I went for a walk?” I asked.
“Well, Brian walked me up to our room and we changed into swimsuits. We decided to ask if we could have the pool opened. They opened the pool for us and we decided to go swimming. Well, we were in the pool and we were kissing and everything. Well, Brian got out and locked the door to the pool and then got back into the pool. He swam over to me and started to take my swimsuit off. I stopped him to ask if he had anything. He said no, but it’s upstairs and don’t worry because he aren’t going that far down here this is just to get me started. Well, I did get started, let me tell ya.” Mandy said with wide eyes.
“Then what happened?” I asked.
“Well, we got our swim suits back on and we made our way up the room. Oh, and by the way. I know you had a very good night Araysa! Could you keep it down next time? I could hear you down the hall!” Mandy said.
“Yea, Araysa, I think the whole hotel heard you two.” Molly said.
“WHAT!!!! I’m so embarassed!” I said. I had turned so red from blushing.
“Don’t worry, I’m surprised that you didn’t hear us.” Mandy said with a grin.
“Well, that makes me feel better then.” I said back.
“So Molly, dish it out. How was AJ?” Mandy asked.
“Well, they don’t call him “Bone” for nothing.” Molly said.
“OH MY GOD MOLLY!!” I said while almost rolling on the floor with laughter.
“Well, you wanted to know.” Molly said.
“Yes, yes we want to know.” Ashely said, “ Since I didn’t get any last night I might as well here all of your stories.”
“Well, Ashley you probably could’ve gotten some last night. Didn’t you see the way that guy from C-Note was looking at you last night? I thought for sure he was going to come over and say something to you.” Molly said.
“Whatever, he was not looking at me. I never once saw him looking at me.” Ashley said.
“Well, of course not. He’s not going to stare you down when you are looking at him too, that would be a really weird feeling.” Molly said.
“I guess you’re right. Maybe they will be at some of the post-awards parties. Then I will make a move. I’m in New York, I’m going to live it up.” Ashley said.
We all agreed and gave each other high fives. Soon we were all done with our make-up and hair. All of us looked beautiful. We thanked each of our hairstylists and the assistants and made our way out the limo to go back to the hotel. When we got back to the hotel we each went to our rooms to get ready for the show. The guys were coming back in an hour to pick us up before we went to the MTV Awards.
“Wow, we all look so good!!” Mandy said as soon as us girls were gathered in the living room area.
“I know, I hope the guys think so too.” Molly said.
“Oh, I almost forgot to put on the necklace and earrings that Nick gave me. That wouldn’t look very good if I did that.” I said.
I ran back into the room and searched for the black box with the necklace and earrings. I found it and was just about to put it on when I felt hands come up to my neck and stop me. I jumped but I smiled when I heard a familer voice.
“Here let me help you with that.” I heard Nick say.
“Thank you very much.” I said.
I turned around to see the most gorgeous thing I had ever seen in my life. Nick was wearing a classic Versace black suit with sequins down the lapel and rinestones at the collar of the shirt underneath. He had on nice black dress pants that were not too tight and not too baggy either. He also had his glasses on. I loved it when he wore them. I had to stop myself from drooling. He looked so good.
“You must like what you see. I as I love what I see.” Nick said as he leaned in for a kiss.
“I absolutly love what I see.” I said while returning the kiss.
We were kissing for bit when we heard the others yell from in the hall that we had to get going. I pulled away from Nick and smiled.
“We will continue this later.” I said.
“Yes, we will.” Nick said back.
We all got on the elevator and made our way down to the lobby and into our awaiting limo. We traveled through Times Square and made it to the front of Radio City Music Hall. When the limo came to a stop we all got out one by one. When we are all out of the limo us girls linked arms with our guy and made our way up the red carpet layed out in front of the entrance of Radio City. We were walking for a bit when we came upon the fan area. Screaming erupted when they caught a glimpse of the Backstreet Boys. The Boys had to go for interviews and pictures so us girls hung back and took in all of the view. There were so many celebrities around it was unreal. Everywhere we looked we saw nothing but music stars and movie stars.
“Oh my god, look over there right now!!! It’s Madonna.” I squealed.
“I know and there is Will Smith, and look over there it’s the Beastie Boys!” Mandy said.
This went on for like fifteen minutes we pointed and gwaked and stared at every person that walked by. Then the Boys were done with their interview and pictures. They grabbed our arms and we made our way into the auditorium. I looked at Nick and smiled. He knew that I was so happy and I was so glad to be here with him. I got on my tiptoes and gave his a kiss on the cheek.
“I love you Nick.” I said.
“I love you too.” Nick said back.
We got seated and I looked around me and I saw Puff Daddy sitting behind us. I poked Nick in the ribs and whispered.
“Nick, Puff Daddy is sitting right behind us.”
“He is? Do you want me to introduce him to you?” Nick said.
“I don’t know. I don’t want to look like a dork.” I said.
“You won’t look like a dork.” Nick said.
“Okay, introduce me.” I said.
Nick turned around and caught Puff Daddy’s attention.
“Hey there Puffy, how’s it going?” Nick said.
“Hey, Nick! It’s going alright. The awards are great what can I say?” Puffy said.
“Well, I would like you to meet my girlfriend Araysa.” Nick said motioning to me.
“Nice to meet you Araysa.” Puffy said.
“Nice to meet you too. I am such a fan of yours and of Biggy’s” I said.
“That’s great to hear. I hope that we can continue to put out beats that you can groove too.” Puffy said.
“I’m sure you will Good luck tonight.” I said.
“Thank you very much. Good luck to you Nick and the rest of you guys.” Puffy said.
“Thanks.” Nick said.
Nick turned back to me.
“See that wasn’t so hard was it?” he asked.
“No, I guess not. But you don’t understand I’m so star struck here. I mean my favorite artists in the whole world are here.” I said.
“I know, I still get star struck. But all you have to to do is be yourself just like you did with Puffy and you will be okay.” Nick said.
“Thanks Nick, you always know how to make me feel better.” I said.
“In more ways then one I hope.” Nick said with a big sexy smile.
“Nick!!! Don’t think like that right now. Save that mind for later.”
“Okay, okay.” Nick said while laughing.
“Hey, keep it down. I don’t want to have to seperate you two.” Kevin said while laughing and pointing a finger.
“I’m sorry Daddy, I won’t do it again. Can I have a cookie now?” I said in a baby voice.
Everybody started cracking up laughing. We were almost rolling in the asles with laughter when the Boys’ managers tapped the guys on the shoulder.
“Let’s be professional people.” one manager said with a stone look.
“Sorry, we won’t laugh anymore.” Brian said barely containing his laugter.
When we had all calmed down the lights went down and the show started. They had a funny skit on before about the new MTV VJ Thalia. It was hilarious. Then the host came out. It was Adam Sandler. He started out with a really funny skit then right into the first award. The awards were going along for a while when the guys had to get up during a commercial to get ready for thier performance. We were sitting there for a bit when the show started again and Adam Sandler came back out and introduced who would be performing next.
“And here they are with their new hit.....The Backstreet Boys!!”
We all jumped up and screamed. We sat back down again and proceeded to watch our boys pump up the crowd. They sang their newest hit “I Want It That Way.” I loved this song so much, so was excited to find out that they were going to sing this one. The whole performance was jam packed with lots of dancing. I got a little upset when a dancer was dancing provacativly with Nick but I knew that it didn’t mean anything. When they were done we all jumped up again and screamed and clapped until we lost our voices. We sat down and heard the people in front of us whisper to each other.
“They must be the girlfriends. I wonder how loud they are going to be if their boyfriends win.”
Mandy turned her head towards them and stuck her tounge out. I gave her a devil look. She looked back at me and shrugged her shoulders. Just then we spotted Britney Spears across the asle and a few rows up. She spotted us too and she waved and gave us a thumbs up. Molly faked waved at her and Mandy looked at me and whispered.
“My name is Britney Spears and I have a boob job at 17.”
I snorted and put my hand over my mouth so I wouldn’t laugh out loud. A little while later the guys came back out to sit down. I hugged Nick and gave him a big kiss.
“Good job, baby!! I loved the whole performance.”
“Thank you. It was so fun. I get such a rush when we perform. I have such a good feeling right now.” Nick said.
Soon it was time for the Best Group Video Award. The presenters read off all of the nominees: Collective Soul, Backstreet Boys, Matchbox 20, New Radicals, and Goo Goo Dolls.
“And the winner is.....The Backstreet Boys” the presenter screamed.
We all jumped up and everybody started hugging and kissing everybody else. I turned to Nick and put my arms around him. I gave him a big kiss.
“Congratualtions Nick.” I said.
“Thank you. You are a fan of ours so you made this happen you know.” Nick said back.
“I know, and I’m so glad that I am a fan.”
The guys made their way up the stage to claim their award. Brian spoke first.
“Well, we get another ‘Planet Man.’ This is the best feeling in the whole world. I like to thank first and foremost God, for giving me and the guys the gift of music. I’d also like to thank my familly and friends and to my whole world Mandy, I like to thank you for being there for me. I love you.”
Next it was AJ
“What can I say?? Backstreet’s Back!!! I like to thank our record company, or mangers, and our producers esepecially Max Martin. I’d also like to thank Molly, for being the best thing in the whole world for me. I love you baby!”
Next was Nick
“I’d like to thank the fans for being there for us. It’s you guys that make us the Backstreet Boys and I love you from the bottom of my heart. Also, I’d like to thank MTV and radio for playing our video and songs. Lastly, Araysa I love you so much, thank you for being my girl!”
Next was Kevin.
“I’d again like to thank God, our families and friends. Ashley you are the best. Lastly, I want to thank our coerogropher, Fatima Robinson.”
Next was Howie “Well, I think that everybody has pretty much thanked everybody. I’d like to thank Allie for being there when I need her most. And to everybody KEEP THE BACKSTREET PRIDE ALIVE!!!”
They all filed off of stage. I looked all the other girls and we saw that everybody including myself was crying. I told myself that I had to hold my emotion because we had one more award to go. The guys came back and sat down. We sat through the rest of the award show and then it was the Viewers’ Choice Award.
The nominees this year were: Puff Daddy, Goo Goo Dolls, Backstreet Boys, Shania Twain, and Will Smith.
Adam Sandler was the presenter of this award. He read off the nominees and then annouced the winner.
“The winner is....The BACKSTREET BOYS!!!!”
We all jumped up again. The guys ran up to the stage to get their award. Brian spoke first again.
“We did this two times in a row in Europe and it feels really good to do this here in the States so thank you to everybody who voted for us.”
Nick was next.
“Again I’d like to thank the fans. This award comes directly from you so thank you.”
Both AJ and Kevin at the same time yelled.
“Thank you MTV!”
They all filed off of the stage again. The show was over after that. We waited until the guys came back out to get us. We then had to go into another part of the auditorium where the question and answer session was to take place. We got into the area with all the reporters and there were cameras snapping everywhere, people talking all at once, and reporters asking questions left and right. The Boys went to stand in line for their turn on the stage and us girls went to stand in the back so we could watch. We were back there for like ten minutes when we saw Cher walk past us. Without thinking I reach out and touched her arm. She turned around and I stood there for what seemed like a minute. Then I spoke up.
“Hi, I’m such a big fan of yours I was wondering if I could get your autograph?” I asked while holding out the Music Awards program.
“Sure, are you a singer or something?” Cher asked.
“No, I wish. My boyfriend is Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys.” I said.
“Oh I see. Tell him that I said congratulations on thier awards.” Cher said as she signed my program.
“Thank you so much. I wish you so much success. Not like you haven’t had success already.” I said.
“Thank you. Good luck in whatever you do. And remember if you do want to be a singer. Go for it!” Cher said back as she walked away.
I turned to Mandy and showed her my program. She got really wide eyes and squealed.
“I can’t believe that you got Cher’s autograph!”
“I know. She was really nice too. She told me to tell Nick and the others congratualations” I said.
“Wow, that is so cool.” Mandy said.
Soon the guys were done with their turn on stage. They all came over to us. Nick grabbed me and gave me a big kiss. I kissed him back and then showed him the program with Cher’s autograph.
“Look what I got.” I said.
“Wow, did you talk to her?” Nick asked.
“Yep, and she told me to tell you and the other guys congratulations on your award too.” I said.
“That’s awesome.” Nick said back.
“So are we all ready to go to some parties?” AJ asked.
“Oh yea!” we all said at the same time.
