We all got into the limo and made our way to our first party stop of the night. We pulled up in front of Studio 54 for the MTV post-party. I had never been to Studio 54, but I had seen it in movies and documentaries. I was so excited I could hardly contain myself. We all got out of the limo and made our way up to the door to the club. As soon as we got out of the limo screaming erupted from the fans lined up outside. As we walked passed the fans a girl screamed out “Nick, Nick, come here for a sec!!!” Nick turned to see who it was and apperantly he knew who it was because he stopped and waved.
“Just a sec, that’s a friend of mine from Florida.” Nick said
He walked over to her and before he could say hello she grabbed his face and started kissing him. I was so angry. I ran right over to Nick and the girl and pulled Nick away from her.
“Just what do you think you’re doing?!?!?!?!” I screamed.
“What are you talking about? Who are you?” the girl screamed back.
“Umm....Lisa this is my girlfriend Araysa.” Nick said to inturrupt our cat fight.
“Oh, I see, you didn’t bother to tell me that when we talked over the phone.” Lisa said back.
I glared at Nick when she said that. I was getting so angry that I just turned around and stompped off. I got back to our little group and started to cry.
“What’s the matter Araysa?” Mandy asked.
“Oh nothing, just the fact that Nick didn’t bother to tell me some girl that he knew from Florida was coming here to see him and she kissed Nick right in front of my face.” I sobbed.
“Who is it?” Brian asked.
hat girl over there, some Lisa.” I said pointing to where Lisa and Nick were standing.
"What the hell!!!! What’s she doing here?” Kevin asked.
“I don’t know. Nick told her the other day that he didn’t want to see her.” AJ said back.
“WHO IS SHE!!!!” I screamed.
“That’s Nick ex-girlfriend.” Brian said.
“What!?! How ex of a girlfriend is she?” I asked as I started to cry again.
“Don’t worry, he broke up with her a few months before we met you guys. She was there for the money and nothing else. Nick heard a phone conversation that she was having with a friend of hers and he ended it right there. Well, she hasn’t fully gotten the hint I think.” Brian answered.
“Well, that makes me feel a little better. But I don’t like the fact that she kissed him like that.” I said.
“That was pretty shitty for her to do.” Molly said.
“Okay, why don’t you guys go into the club and I’m going to wait for Nick and explain some things to him. Mandy take Araysa into the bathroom and get her calmed down. Everything’s going to be alright.” Brian said. He gave Mandy a quick kiss as we left to go into the club.
After what seemed like twenty minutes Mandy and I finally made our way into the club. There were so many celebrities that we had to stop and gwak at everyone. We were in the bathroom trying to reapply my make up and fix my hair when all of a sudden Jennifer Lopez came out of the bathroom and was reapplying some lipstick. I looked at Mandy with wide eyes and motioned for her to say something.
“Hey, you’re Jennifer Lopez right? I just loved you in Selena. I cry everytime I see that movie.” Mandy said.
“Thanks, yea, I am Jennifer Lopez.” She said with a giggle.
“Congrats on your award tonight!! You defiently deserve it.” I added.
“Thank you very much. You came with the Backstreet Boys tonight didn’t you?” She asked.
“Yea, how did you know that?” I asked.
“I saw you guys outside Radio City with them. How could you not know the Backstreet Boys were there with all the screaming.” Jennifer said.
“I know, it’s crazy.” Mandy said.
“Well, it was nice talking to you girls, but I have to be going back.” Jennifer said, “Maybe I’ll catch ya later tonight.”
“Yea, nice talking to you. Catch ya later.” I said.
“Bye, Jennifer.” Mandy said as she waved.
“Wow, that was so cool. Five months ago we never would’ve been in the same bathroom at Jennifer Lopez, or the same state as Puff Daddy.” I said.
“I know, I feel almost like a star myself.” Mandy said.
“Well, I’m feeling a lot better. I will feel more better when I talk to Nick. I’m not mad at him, I’m mad at that girl. But I’ll tell you one thing before the night’s over I want to talk to Ricky Martin, the Beastie Boys, and Joey Fatone from NSYNC. I don’t care what I have to do.” I said.
“You go girl!! Tonight we are going to live it up.” Mandy said back as she gave me a high five.
We walked out of the bathroom and over to the table that all of the guys were sitting at. Nick got up and offered for me to sit next to him. He had a sad look on his face and I knew that he was sorry for what happened. I sat down next to him and gave him a kiss. He looked surprised when I pulled away from him.
“What was that for?” he asked.
“It was a apology accepted kiss. I’m not mad at you, nor was I ever mad at you. I love you.” I said as I kissed him again.
“Well, I’m glad of that. I don’t know what I would do if I lost you.” Nick said back.
“Well, you two took an awful long time in the bathroom. What were you doing in there?” Brian asked.
“Well, we were just chatting with our good pal Jennifer Lopez.” Mandy said.
“What? Are you serious?” Ashley asked.
“Yep, we had a nice little conversation.” I said.
Just then our favorite girl Britney came over to the table. She put on a fake smile and said, “Jive wanted me to come over here and congratulate you on your award, so congratulations.”
“Thanks, sorry you didn’t win tonight.” Kevin said back.
Her smile turned into a frown just as Kevin said that. She flipped around and walked away.
“Yea, congratulations on not winning your award.” Mandy said with a huff.
“She’s such a bitch.” I said back.
“Now, now girls. She may not be the nicest person in the world but that’s doesn’t mean that you have to call her names.” Howie said.
“I don’t know, D. I thought that it was pretty funny.” AJ said.
“Whatever, Britney’s just dumb. I heard that Jive they may not renew her contract.” Nick said.
“Nick, that’s suppossed to be out in the open.” Brian said as he put his hand over Nick’s mouth.
“Sorry.” Nick mumbled from under Brian’s hand.
“Guys, I think it’s time we start dancing.” AJ said.
“Yea, let’s bust a move shall we.” Howie added.
We all got up and made our way out to the dance floor. The song “Around the World.” by Daft Punk was on. Since Mandy and I had sort of made a dance for it we were out dancing right away. Brian and Nick were trying to copy us but it wasn’t really working out. I stopped and started laughing at them.
“What!!” they both said the same time.
“You guys are some of the best dancers in the world and you look like goons trying to do this.” I said.
“Well, thanks a lot, see if we ever show you guys how dance ever again.” Nick said with a pout.
“I was just kidding, baby, don’t take it so personally.” I said while putting my arms around his waist.
Just then the announcer came on and said that next would be a slow song. The song was “Angel Of Mine” by Monica. I pulled Nick in close and we started to sway to the music. We had been dacing for bit when I looked up into Nick’s eyes.
“You know what, whenever I hear this song I can’t help but think of you. You are my angel Nick.”
“Araysa, I don’t know what to say to that but I think that this might show you how I feel right now.” Nick said as he pulled a small box out of his pocket.
“What’s this?” I asked.
“Let’s go sit down and then you can open it.” Nick said as he led me to our table.
We both sat down and I began to open the box. Inside was a smaller maroon velvet box. I looked up at Nick with a you-shouldn’t-have-done-this look on my face. He only motioned for me to open the box all the way. I slowly opened the other box and there inside was a beautiful gold dolphin ring.
“Nick, you didn’t have to get me this too. I have the beautiful necklace and earring set already.” I said.
“I know, but I wanted to get this for you. I love you so much and this ring is not only a symbol of mine and your love of the ocean but it’s a promise ring as well, a symbol of our love for one another.” He said back.
I started crying right there. There was no holding back. I looked back up at Nick with tears streaming down my face. Nick got a funny look on his face like he had did something wrong.
“What’s the matter? Why are you crying.”
“I’m crying because I’m so happy, and what you said about this being a symbol of our love was so amazing. Nobody has ever said anything like that to me before. I don’t know if I should say this but I right now I feel like I want to spend the rest of my life with you.”
“I know, it’s wierd I feel that too. I mean I know that we are only 19 years old but I feel like you are the one.” Nick said back.
“Well, I’m glad that you feel the same way, however I think that we shouldn’t rush it. I mean you guys are still in the middle of your success. You should concentrate on that first. Plus, I have to go back to Minnesota and finish college.”
“Yea, you’re right. I don’t want to think about you having to leave quite yet. We still have tonight though. And you guys aren’t leaving until Monday. Hey, ever thought about going to law school in Tampa?” Nick asked.
“Yea, since I’ve met you, I believe that Tampa is a possibility. I would need to establish residency in Florida so I don’t have to pay out of state tuition but it’s defiently a possibility.” I said.
“Think about it seriously, because you could live with me. My house is too big for just me. And you could take care of my dogs then.”
“Oh, thanks, so I’m a babysitter in other words.” I said with a laugh.
“No, you are defiently more than that.” Nick said
He pulled me in close for a kiss. His kisses were so good. My life could not have gotten any better at that point. Soon all of the guys and the girls came back over to the table. We all decided to skip the other parties and make our way back to the hotel. When we were in our hotel room Mandy noticed the new ring on my ring finger. She tapped me on the arm and pointed at the ring.
“What’s up with that? It’s on the ring finger Araysa, and I know for a fact that you never wear a ring on that finger unless it’s a you-know-what-ring.”
“It’s a promise ring, Nick gave it too me tonight. Mandy, Nick is the man that I want to marry and be the father of my children. I mean I knew that before we met them but I’m absolutly sure now.” I said.
“Oh, Araysa I’m so happy for you.” Mandy said as she gave me a hug.
“Thank you, I hope everything goes well for you and Brian, and Molly and AJ.” I said.
“And don’t forget Ashley, I saw her and that C-Note guy were getting along pretty well tonight.” Mandy said.
“Oh yea, I wish I knew his name I hate just calling him C-Note guy.” I said.
“Oh well, I’m sure we’ll find out tomorrow. Well, I’m going to go to bed. Brian should be coming in a little bit. I’ll talk to ya tomorrow. Love ya.” Mandy said as she gave me a hug.
“Oh girl you know I love you too.” I said back. Just then Brian came in the room.
“Hey, there girls. Oh, Araysa, Nick is almost asleep so be careful not to wake him up when you get in bed. Goodnight, I’ll talk to ya tomorrow.”
“Goodnight Brian. Congrats on your awards.” I said while giving him a hug and a kiss on the cheek.
“Thanks, I’m glad that all you girls could be here to celebrate with us.”
I closed the door between our rooms and made my way over to the bed. I stood there for a sec watching Nick sleep. He looked so peacful and child-like. I smiled to myself and proceeded to carefully get into bed. I got under the covers and put my arm around Nick. He stirred and took a hold of my hand. We feel asleep just like that holding each other.
