A small boy is in the store with his mother. Although they are not happy. The boy is screaming "I WANT IT", "I WANT IT"! The mother calmly tells her son, "I'm sorry honey, we can't get that today." as she continues to shop. The boy is not happy with her answer and begins to go into a rage. He knocks things off the shelf, screaming as loud as he could. The mother is very frustrated for her son has acted this way before. She tries to ignore him hoping his rage will go away. People are staring wanting to help the frustrated mother, but don't. The store manager comes over to see what all the noise is about. The mother explains in tears. "I'm sorry, my son has an emotional problem today, you see he wants this toy I just can't afford. He acts this way whenever he doesn't get his way and I just don't know what to do about it. The manager feeling sorry for the women leans down towards the boy with a soft word "Son, can I help you?" he says. The youngster looks up at him and says, "Get a way from me, I DON'T NEED YOUR HELP!" The manager is surprised at the boys reaction for his temper gets worse. The mother says,"I'm sorry, I'll get him out of your store as soon as I can." The manager is confussed why the mother doesn't take action over her child and says," If you ask me, this boy needs a good wacking to let him know who's boss." The woman turns to him with a serious look and says,"Yes I agree, but don't you know I could go to jail for disciplining my child?" The manager says,"I don't know who made that law, if I acted like that my mother would have spanked me and that would have been that!" "Yes in the day when parents had the right to teach their children right from wrong that was a method."

The manager replies,"I guess that's why children have no respect these days."

The women just stands there looking at her child wildly throwing himself on the floor and says,"I wish I knew what to do when he gets this way, then maybe I wouldn't have days like this.



This is just an example to show that we have no rights as parents to take control over our children.In a real story that hit the news, the woman hit her child and the manager called the police. The woman was arrested.

With no bounderies and no circumstanses our Society is allowing our children the right to show no respect for their parents, friends, the world.

Not that I believe you have to spank your children to learn right from wrong, I do believe you have to show them who's the boss, take charge. To be consistent, to always show love and let your child know they can't always get what they want.

In a situation like the one presented in this story, if the mother did take action and patted her sons bottom the first time he acted that way, would she have those days repeatedly?
