(POOH) "Faster...Faster" As a child, winter was the best! We lived near a college which had the best hills for sled riding. I remember staying there til we couldn't walk on our frozen feet. Getting home was painfull and I would complain to my brothers the whole way home. They were always supportive and would just keep telling me, "We're almost there!" "We're almost there!" When I was real little they would pull me on the sled all the way home. Thank goodness we had a great furnace with one of those large grills that blew the heat up. I would put on my slippers and stand on that grill til my feet defrosted or my mother called me away.(Loved that grill) With about 15 kids in the neighborhood we would build forts with tunnels through the plowed piles of snow, make our supply of snowballs and have the best snowball fights. No matter how cold it was we were always ready to go out to play in that lovely white glitter that would melt in your mouth. When we got alittle older we moved up on a hill with the lake below.(Thank you Dad for teaching me how to skate so very young) We lived on that icy lake in the winter. When it snowed Dad would shovel paths in and out and all around the lake, then we would have races. (did you do that too?) When we had enough people together we would take our tobagans to the school yard and race across the field to see who could make it up the hill the farthest on the other side. Of course we made the traditional Yeah, when your a kid winters alot of fun! When your older, it's pretty to look at from inside the heated dwelling.
