| Origin | Brazil |
| Plant description | Secondary stems are 6-8 cm long, with two to three nodes with sheath, and the leaves run 20-40 cm, with a diameter up to 10 mm. |
| Growing | History about B. fragrans in cultivation is not well recorded. My plant mounted on a piece of cork and has been doing fine. I suspect that this species would grow well warm to intermediate conditions. |
| Blooming Season | Not very well recorded. Many sources said that they bloom range from early summer to early winter. Mine bloom in August, 99, first bloom since I bought the plant, and in 2000, it blooms in June. Another plant I just acquired (pictured) bloomes in July this year. |
| Flower size and shape | The sepals and petals measure 3-4.5 cm with the petals are distinctly narrower, and the lateral sepals are wider than the dorsal sepal. Lip is 2.5-3 cm wide and 3.5-4 cm long. |
| Colors and fragrance | Flower has greenish white sepals and petals without spotting. Lip is white with green/sulfur throat. |
| Comments | In my opinion, there is a distinction between B. flagellaris and B. fragrans flowers, specially the lip and its sizes. B. flagellaris has green color vs. yellow of B. fragrans, and the flowers are noticeable larger. |
