Plant description |
The major distinguishing
feature of the species is an enlarged stem, not quite a speudobulb,
but not the hard thin stalk found in other species of the genus.
It is cover with one stout leaf sheath, with smaller ones below.
The leaves are 15-20 cm long with diameter 7-9 mm, and are stiffly
upright. |
Growing |
Said that the species
originally came from the state of Goias, which runs north and
south to the west of Brasilia, record also shows the species
exists in Para, which is farther west and north. |

Flower size and shape |
The sepals and petals
are 28-30 mm long, and the lip is 11 by 18 mm. Other descriptions
indicate larger lip size. |
Colors and fragrance |
The flowers are described
as more green-yellow in color than white. Lip is finely toothed. |

My plant is from Countryside
Orchids, was bought in 2 in pot, supposed to be blooming size.
I notice the longest leaf is about 15 cm, but I will doubt very
much the leaves of this plant will reach 7-9 mm wide! |
