March 4, 2000 A New Found Glory, RX Bandents, and Midtown @ The State Theater in St.Pete, FL
First off you need to know New Found Glory is one of my very very fvaorite bands and that's why I drove 3 hours (6 hours round trip) to see this show. Also know before I start my complaining that all three of the bands played excellent sets. Even Midtown with 2 of the mebers sick with the flu played surprising well! I am not a big fan of ska but RX Bandents played good too. And of course NFG played awesome as they normally do! NFG played one new song which will be on a comp on FASTMUSIC.COM RECORDS to fight viloence, it was really good! They also played their version of the Armaggedon theme song. Like I said the bands were good but thats about all that was good in opinion. First off the doors were supposed to open at 8 but didn't till 9 which just sucked and kind of got me in a bad mood. Now maybe it's just me but in the past many times that I have seen NFG I have always had soo much FUN just singing along with the band and the rest of the crowd with no worries but at this show there was constantly people jumping off the stage on top of me and some of these people were not small by no means and the pit was getting VERY violent. SO I had to worry more about getting hurt then about having fun and that just REALLY FUCKING SUCKED!! On Monday the 6th I go to Orlando to see another one of my very favortie bands AS FRIENDS RUST along with florida arson project, dragbody, carlisle, and destination: daybreak. Will see how that one goes. Check back on Tuesday for a review of that show.
March 6,2000 As Friends Rust, Carlisle, Destination: Daybreak, The Florida Arson Project, and Dragbody @ The Sapphire Supper Club in Orlando, FL
The first to play was The Florida Arson Project a band who I never heard before and didnt really know what to expect when I saw violen and a keyboard on stage but they came out and played REALLY good! I really enjoyed F.A.P.'s set. This could be a bad comparison but Florida Arson Project reminded me of a band called The Young Pioneers. Anyway next up was Destination: Daybreak, I ahve seem them twice before and I new to expect an awesome show from them. I can't explain how good I think this band is, if you get the chance check out Destination: Daybreak! As Friends Rust played next and they are one of my faveorite bands ever and the fucking rocked last night! They played a short set but they played my three favorite songs so I was content. This band is fucking great both on stage and on CD, check them out!! I will have a couple of pis of them on this page from the show soon! Next was Dragbody a band who I am not a big fan of at all. Last was the great Carlisle if you have not heard this band you are missing out!! and for those of you who have seen them live you know who great they are!!
