Bound and Broken Pt.3

Rae looked to her two companions, they were aghast at the sight that they beheld. Loa's daggers dripped with crimson blood and Rae had to rub her eyes to make sure her eyes weren't deceiving her. Loa stood, her eyes cold and without emotion, she slowly turned, and spotted the three.

In hushed tones, Rae turned to Corde. "Go back to the village… Get help."

Corde nodded, fear was written in her eyes. She ran back to the portal. Rae turned to Tama. "Ready?"

Tama nodded, studying the situation carefully. Then Rae clenched her teeth, drew her blade and stepped into the clearing.

"Loa!" Rae cried.

Loa turned, on guard, daggers poised for attack.

Rae stepped forward, she held up a hand to Tama for him to stay back. "Loa! Are you all right?" Rae called to her.

Loa smiled wickedly. "Better than I have been in a long time…" she answered, her voice deadly calm.

Rae stopped. "What?"

Loa turned dead eyes to meet Rae's. "Oh, you don't understand… How it feels…"

"What are you talking about?!" Rae asked, lowering her sword warily. This was not the Loa she knew… Something was different.

Loa sensed something behind her, and whipped around, dagger meeting flesh. Blood flew into the air, and landed on icy snow as a guard slumped to the ground.

"What are you doing?!" Rae hollered staring at the fresh corpse laying there.

Loa allowed the blade, with the blood matted on it. She walked up to Rae and smiled again. She lifted the blade, and Rae stepped back and moved her sword up.

" You think you can break the soul of a great destroyer?" Loa asked simply, allowing the dual blades to dance in front of Rae's vision.

Rae looked disgusted and then paled slightly. "Loa…" she whispered.

"Loa nothing…." Loa replied. Then she began to turn, but whipped back around, and slammed into Rae with deadly force, knocking her to the ground. Rae's sword went flying from her hand and skittered across the blood covered snow, far out of reach.

"Rae!" Tama screamed. He began to run forth, to help his fellow comrade, but Loa would not allow it. She whipped her head up and turned her sight to the running Tama.

"Hogo sochi!" she yelled into the clearing. A barrier of telekinetic energy formed around Loa and Rae. Tama was thrown back from the barrier's energy and onto the ground. He lay there, half unconscious from the blow.

Rae lay on the ground, Loa above her, staring at her with hate and anger and pure rage in her countenance. She held a dagger above Rae's frightened face, and she grinned wildly. This feeling, it was pure everything. Everything that she had longed for.

"Shi chikazuku." She whispered down to Rae. Death was approaching her, slowly, surely.

Rae could not move. "What the hell are you doing?!!" she shouted.

Loa grinned again, and sheathed one of her blades. Using the bloodied flat of the remaining dagger, she smeared blood over Rae's cheek. Rae cringed at the feeling and struggled to get away, but Loa placed a boot over her stomach. Rae was immobilized.

"Watashi sazukeru anata de ketsueki." She said, making sure the blood was over Rae's cheeks like war paint, glistening in the moonlight. "I endow you with the cursed blood of others." She then drew the dagger up, flipped it around, and spoke once more, the hate and anger glittered in her brown eyes. "Junbai suru no tami ne jigoku." She sneered. She uttered the last words. "Prepare for Hell." She whispered, and then brought the dagger down, hard, onto Rae's chest, right above her heart.

A long moment passed, as the blade remained in Rae's shoulder. Her face was a mask of silent terror and pain, as Loa stood triumphantly above her, admiring her handiwork.

"Rae!!!!!!" Tama's cry rang out. He had finally made his way to his feet, and ran back towards the barrier, trying to help…

It was to no avail. Rae was now incapable of talking, and Loa was more than happy with her deed. She pulled the long dagger up and out of Rae's body, and Rae lay there, defeated.

"You…" she whispered.

Loa threw back her head and laughed hysterically. "Weakling! You pathetic little sniveling Amazon! Look at yourself! Look!"

Rae raised her head, gasping for air, but her lung had been punctured and she struggled for life… But it was in vain.

"You son of a bacchae." She whispered finally. " I hope you rot in Tartarus."

Loa just laughed, and smiled smugly. "Sorry, you'll be there, before I." She laughed again.

Rae stared at her, with half opened eyes. With her last ounce of strength she grabbed at a rock near her hand and hurled it at Loa. It bounced harmlessly off her leg.

"Oh! No! I'm wounded!" Loa mock screamed. She looked at Rae with pity. "Not dead yet?" she muttered to the half unconscious form.

Rae could not answer, she just stared at Loa with a kind of challenge in her eyes.

Loa was angry. No one challenged her. Not anymore. No submission to anyone, especially this weakling. She raised a hand. "Uchu hakai!" she yelled.

All of a sudden, the ground beneath Rae seemed to distort. Rae seemed to be being physically pressed into the ground. The force of the power was so strong that it seemed as if Rae was flopping up and down on the ground. A huge gash opened up in the back of her head, and blood began to flow onto the snow. Again, again… Until…

"Stop!" a voice cut through the clearing, and then silence followed.

Suddenly. Loa's ice cold will had been shaken. She turned to see Corde standing alongside Mad Matt.

"This isn't your concern." Loa said. Rae had now stopped shaking, but she was evidently close to death.

Corde looked as if she could not speak, but Matt shook away the webs of silence that had somehow spread over the clearing. "Loa! Loa! What are you doing!?" Loa stared at him, as if he were crazy. Then he spoke again. "Look before you!" Loa could not help to look at Rae's near lifeless form.

"What of it?" she spat. The barrier was still up. Matt stood over at the edge of it, staring in at Loa.

"You don't care that you killed an innocent? Isn't that against your code?"

"What?"

"Your code. As a ninja."

"What do you know?! You're an outsider."

"I know enough to figure out that this is wrong."

At this point Corde had ran to Tama's side, he was near unconsciousness, and needed help.

"Do you really think you can stop me?"

"No."

"Then why stand there? What do you think would keep me from killing you?"

"I have my reasons."

"Shut up!" Loa screamed, she was losing patience.

She stared coldly across the snow, like a statue, she seemed. She then turned her gaze to Rae. Rae's eyes had rolled up in her head, and her breath was coming short or not at all. Loa turned eyes back to Matt, and then to Corde and Tama.

…What am I doing?… She found a voice speak.

…I don't know…

… Why have I…

…Hurt…

Her poised dagger drooped to her side. Her mind was shaken for a split second. She was frozen… She still burned, but her will was gone. She wanted to give up. As if some master puppeteer had decided to put her back on the shelf. She stumbled for a second. Then realized that her barrier was gone… She raised the dagger once more, looked at it… Then, she whispered… More to herself than anyone else. "Watashi kore owari…"

…I must finish this… Spoke the voice.

She then hurled the dagger at Rae, it caught her in her throat. Uttering a final cry to the empty sky and the corpses around her, Rae finally passed from the world… Into oblivion.

Looking at the young, dead Amazon, Loa smiled. She had finished it. Slowly, she turned to Matt, and then to Corde and the senseless Tama.

"You lose… Shiai zentai ni."
