Insanity Part 3
Night was fast approaching the island. Loa had been sitting in the forest, keeping an eye on the village. She knew what she had to do now. She knew what the power was… She knew it all. She knew that insanity was part of her. That it had just lay dormant until this instance… But in that instant, when her guard was down, and her senses laid bare… That was the time… That was when the insanity crept in and launched itself… The way it always should have been.
Loa watched through the branches as Corde and Saran walked past. She remembered once being called their comrade. No more of that… The day continued, Mad Matt walked past, he looked strangely pensive as he passed her hiding place… Could he sense her? She shook the thought from her mind as Eri approached him, and they left. Tama walked past as well. He was fully healed from her attack on him, and seemed happy. He had no idea what lay before him. In the distance she could hear the Enforcer, Falcon, Eponie, and the Queen Cyan talking, and she knew beyond there, the others were doing their jobs… Ashana in her healers' hut, Labris and Larc in the Academy.
Such meaningless lives they led. If they only knew the truth behind… Everything. The second that Loa had killed Rae, she had felt the truth, not at first understood it… But as time wore on, in her solitary state, she realized it fully… Felt the heat of it in her mind… She wanted to maim, to kill, to destroy. No one could stop her now… She would end all of them.
Night was falling, and Loa knew that it was nearly time… Time to realize the rage that had blossomed inn her heart. To open the doors to her power. To unleash the black dragon that dwelled in her soul.
She closed her eyes now… And thought… Thought back to the hate… Her pure pain, her anguish, her loneliness. Every negative thing she was every told… And when her eyes opened, they gleamed. She lifted a hand… Around it pooled red light…
It was time. It was time for Judgment.
She stepped from her hiding place, her eyes… glowing in the moonlight.
"I have come, you bastards. I've come to end your pitiful meaningless lives." Her voice, no more than a whisper, echoed through the silent air, heavy with tension.
She walked towards the village square, lifted her hand and energy flowed from her palm. The hut to her left exploded in a shower of sparks and flame.
"Amazons! Come meet your end!" she shouted now, lifting her other hand, more energy, and the huts to her right exploded.
Amazons were now running from the charred shells, some lay inside them, already lost.
Loa clapped her hands together. "Death to all…" she whispered. She closed her eyes and flames shot from her clasped palms, setting the Queen's hut on fire.
"Oh my Gods!!! What's happening?!" a voice cried.
"She's back!!"
"Do something!!"
"Amazons!!!" she heard the Queen scream. "Attack! Full force!!!"
Loa smiled. She drew both of her daggers, prepared for the enraged warriors. To her they were no more than ants. Easily disposed. She spun about, digging her blade into the side of one, and then moving fluidly up and through the throat of another. Cries were uttered to the empty, uncaring sky, and the stars stared down unkindly on the faces of the Amazons.
"No escape." She whispered.
"Amazons!!" the Queen hollered again. "Retreat!"
The others began to run. Queen Cyan stood and faced Loa.
"Loa! End this here and now before more blood is spilt!"
"Why? The only one that can judge me are them!" Loa pointed up to the sky above. "And I fear not even them… No one is above my wrath!"
The Queen stared down upon her; she drew a long sword from a sheath at her back and faced Loa, trying to hide the obvious fear in her eyes.
"Are you afraid of death…?" Loa asked, tilting her head to one side, like a curious child. "Do you ever wonder what that moment will feel like? The moment when time and death creep across your eyes and you shut them for the final time… Whether it be in battle or in your hut… Or now… Where you have no chance…"
Loa lifted a flaming hand. "Run now Cyan… Run and wait with your tribe until I come for you."
Cyan eyed Loa, and saw the dead seriousness in the other warriors pale face. She then gathered herself, backed away slowly, and ran for dear life after the other Amazons. Loa laughed hysterically to the moon overhead and then lifted both hands.
The village, in its entirety caught into flames.
Loa was now finished. The world around her was nothing but the crackling of angry flames. Loa looked at the sky… She smiled. They would all crumble soon, just like she knew they would.
"Anata no tamashii aru watashi no mono." She whispered.
And the souls of the Amazons would be hers… Very soon.
Loa advanced through the flames as if they were nothing but air, and walked towards the caverns to the east. That was where the Amazons would hide, she knew it as she knew that she would slay each one of them. There was no one who could stop her now. She hurried past the village. Black smoke wafted up into the air, and gathered across the perfect moon into the shape of…
A Black Dragon.

Loa had made it to the eastern caves. She was giggling now, her head spun with the high of blood on her daggers. The pure power that trilled through her veins, it was exhilarating and frightening at the same time, and she felt as if she would explode from the pure pleasure it filled her with… She was now at the cavern's entrance. This would be the end, and the beginning, and everything. When she drew the blood of these Amazons, then she would have fully opened the gates for the Black Dragon to enter through… And then… Then, she would be free.
"I'm here." She whispered into the inky darkness of the cavern. Which one of you worms would like to die first?"
She heard movement from the back of the cave. Lifting her hand, she let the reddish glow illuminate the entry. She saw the Amazons in the back of the cave, cowering there.
"Where's Rae?" Loa's voice echoed through the cave.
"She's not here." Queen Cyan came forth, her sword raised. "Kill us. Take us." She said, letting her sword droop to her side.
"No!" Loa said, her eyes glinting in rage. "Not until I find and kill that bitch Rae!!" she demanded clenching a glowing hand.
She turned, and raised a dagger. "You worms will wait here… Wait until Rae returns. When she does… Then the sacrifice to the Black Dragon will be complete." Loa left the cavern.
She raised a hand, and large boulders fell on the entrance, making it impossible for anything to go in or out.
There was a small rocky outcropping nearby, and Loa walked to it, her eyes still madly glinting in the moonlight.
"Wait… wait Rae… Your time is here." She whispered.
The crackling of the still burning flames was the only other sound on the island as the night stilled the rest with its smothering blanket of darkness.
