REBUILTS

SW 10
Jacksonville, Fl; January 1999.
No guessing as to which team the crew is rooting for with the Florida State University Seminole logo posted on the "6". SW10s such as TTR 266 were rebuilt from SW7s and SW 9s by Union Pacific with parts of GP7s and GP9s. Amazingly enough, only some SW1200 were equipped with Flexicoil trucks. Was this a SW1200 originally, and therefore, did UP also used SW1200?

SW 14
Baton Rouge, La; May 1997.
Illinois Central's very crafty Paducah shops produced these from SW7s and SW9s

Valdosta, Ga; December 1999.
This switcher listed as a SW9m has more of the characteristics of a SW14. The openings on top of the hood, the "Spartan" cab with no front window all give it away.

SSB 1200
Sanford, Fl Autotrain station; February 1998.
AT&SF used old NW2s and SW9s to produce these in the mid 70s in San Bernardino. Amtrak 555's old paint job is letting its AT&SF heritage through in several places.
