GENERAL ELECTRIC
B40-8

Caldwell, Tx; September 1999.
They were only 4 major customers. Santa Fe 7419 was later renumbered by BNSF as 8609.

Tallahassee, Fl; January 1999.
A few days before the actual bidding war started between Norfolk Southern and CSX, this B40-8 found its way deep in CSX territory. Conrail 5069 would become NS 4805.

Folkston, Ga; February 2000.
NYSW was the third major customer, but only temporarily. CSX later got all but 4 of these units. This one survived this "repossession" and the Conrail break-up.

Jacksonville, Fl; February 1999.
CSX 5940, an original NYSW engine, was working a freight train in Illinois in the Fall of 1998 when it derailed and flipped over. It was sent dead in tow through Montgomery, Pensacola and reached Jacksonville through the Tallahassee sub. It is waiting for repairs. It is spotted in Pensacola, Fl, working on a freight in late 2000 with a few differences from the original.
