KCS 600: SD40-2 rebuilt by VMV from UP3036 SD40.
KCS 600 is part of another colorful consist pulling out of the yard on Q602



Birmingham Al; November 1998.
KCS 625, an SD40-2 still in its SD45 shell, in the lead of the through intermodal from Atlanta to Dallas is waiting for a crew.



Macon (South end of Brosnan Yard), Ga; September 1999.
KCS646, an original KCS engine and one the first SD40-2 ever built is seen pulling a southbound NS freight.


New Orleans, LA; May 1997.
KCS 685, one of the rare KCS engine left in its white scheme, an original snoot nose KCS has the Northbound freight out of New Orleans. In a couple of hours, after the change of crew in Baton Rouge, the train will climb the bridge over the Mississippi River.


Tallulah, La; December 1998.
A winter storm completly froze northern Louisiana and southern Arkansas, a couple of days before Christmas. On Christmas day, trains are stopped for the break. This westbound freight has SD40X KCS 700, one of only 4 ever built.



Tallahassee, Fl; May 2000.
KCS 707, an SD50, far away from home, is heading to Jacksonville on a CSX freight.



New Orleans, LA; November 2000.
KCS 748, an SD60, one of the newest engine purchased by KCS lead the freight from Shreveport and is ready to come into the yard.

KCS 6618, a recent addition to the KCS roster (bought from Helms?), is resting within yard limits in New Orleans after a long night ride South from Shreveport.
