Bright eyes - innocent faces,
Open hearts -untouched by time and fate.
They smile - their laughing voices fill the air.
They play - their games a mimicry of what we have taught them.
Suffer the children - they innocently follow our lead.
Suffer the children - their voices too small to be heard.
Suffer the children - They have no choice but to trust in what we tell them.
How easily we sacrifice the youth - they have no defenses from us.
We make them our puppets, dancing by a string.
We make them our pawns in games of war.
Suffer the children - we tarnish their youth.
Suffer the children - we steal their innocence, and we dare to ask -
What will tomorrow bring?
