Glockenbachfest
München. Am Samstag, dem 8. Juli, findet am Karl-Heinrich-Ulrichs-Platz das Glockenbachfest statt. Veranstalter sind der Bezirksausschuss sowie Kulturreferat und Wirte aus dem Stadtviertel. Ein Liveprogramm läuft auf zwei Bühnen. Auftreten werden auch die schwulen Schuhplattler (Bild) und die Lucky Afternoon Dancers. Schirmherrin ist Barbara Valentin. Erst vor zwei Jahren (1998) wurde der Platz am Glockenbach nach dem "Großvater der Schwulenbewegung" benannt. (TPA)

Glockenbach Festival
Munich. On Saturday, July 8 (2000), the Glockenbach Festival is scheduled to take place on Karl-Heinrich-Ulrichs-Platz. Organizers are the District Council as well as the Cultural Department and homeowners in this quarter of the city. A live program will be presented on two stages. The Gay Schuhplattler (Bavarian Folk Dancers/cloggers pictured) and the Lucky Afternoon Dancers [select link for photo] are scheduled to appear. Barbara Valentin is patron of the event. Only two years ago the Platz (Square) at Am-Glockenbach was named after the "Grandfather of the Gay Movement."
