Chapter Two

“AJ, time to get up,” I whispered to AJ. It was 4:30 in the morning and we were due to leave in an hour. He groaned something incoherent and covered his head with a pillow. I giggled and grabbed the pillow off of his head.

He raised an eyebrow up at me, but smiled. I leaned down and kissed his cheek. I still haven’t let AJ do anything sexual to me, nor have I done anything sexual to him. It kind of built up the excitement of this whole thing though.

AJ rolled out of bed and sauntered to the bathroom, I heard the shower start and I got up out of bed and started walking around the room, trying to get everything together for our ‘trip’. When AJ walked out of the bathroom about fifteen minutes later, he had nothing on, but a towel that was wrapped around his slim waist. Water dripped down his toned chest and down his tight stomach.

I stood there, mesmerized by his body that was turning me on.

“Your turn,” he chuckled.

I smiled and walked off to the bathroom and took a hot shower, my body was trembling in fear. I don’t know if I could go along with this. It’s not like I was used to this kind of thing. I mean, it’s not often that I meet a guy at a diner and run off with him that same night. Obviously my heart was telling me that AJ was special, but this scared the hell out of me.

“Don’t be scared baby,” AJ said, walking into the bathroom.

“I’m not scared,” I whispered to him.

“Yes, you are. I know you are. Don’t be scared baby. I won’t let anything happen to you. I promise,” he told me. I shut off the shower, now complete with my bathing. I wrapped a white towel around my body and stepped out of the shower and was face to face with AJ.

“You’re my girl, Morgan. Nothing will happen to you,” he said, looking deep into my eyes.

“How do I know though, AJ. We’ve known each other for three days,” I whispered, I looked down at my feet, which were soaking the carpet beneath them.

“Do you know a lot about Bonnie and Clyde?” he asked.

“I guess so, why?” I asked.

“It’s just like Bonnie and Clyde.”

He smiled and kissed my lips. I smiled, reassured this was right and looked into AJ’s eyes.

“Go ahead and get dressed,” he whispered. I nodded and walked out of the bathroom and grabbed the clothes I had decided to wear for the day and walked back to the bathroom and changed into my short jean shorts and a white tank top that hugged my body. I brushed my teeth and my hair, making myself up for the day, I applied makeup as well.

“Ready baby girl?” AJ asked as I walked out of the bathroom. I smiled and nodded.

“This is going to be fun,” he told me.

We walked out of the room, JD was already up and sitting on the couch, reading a newspaper.

“JD man, we’re out,” AJ said walking towards him.

“Man, I want you to take my little brother with you. He’d make a good watchman,” JD told us.

“Where’s he at?” AJ asked.

“He’s at the corner gas station up the street. He’ll be waiting for you,” JD told him.

“All right man. See you later. We’ll be back in a few months,” AJ smiled and shook hands with JD. JD stood up and kissed my cheek.

“He’ll take care of you,” JD whispered to me. I smiled and nodded.

“Let’s go Morgan,” AJ said. AJ and I walked out to the garage and threw our things in the trunk and we got in, ready for action.

We were now on the road, towards a gas station, where we would pick up JD’s brother and take him along with us.

“There he his,” AJ said, pulling into the run down station.

“Hey AJ,” he said walking up to the window.

“Hey Frankie, back seat man,” AJ ordered. Frankie got into the backseat and AJ took off.

“Frankie this is my girl, Morgan. Morgan, Frankie,” AJ introduced. I turned around and smiled.

“Hey Frankie,” I smiled and he smiled back.

“You scared Morgan?” Frankie asked me. I turned and looked at him thoughtfully.

“Nah, she ain’t scared. She’s got us and she knows we won’t let anything happen to her,” AJ answered for me. I smiled at Frankie and then turned back around.

“I have to pick up my cousin, Jeff,” AJ said, pulling onto a long dirt road.

“He’s going with us too?” I asked, looking at AJ’s beautiful face.

“Yeah,” he nodded, chuckling to himself. I smiled and he pulled up to a small farm house.

“Wait here,” AJ said, he reached into the backseat and grabbed a gun and tucked it into his pants and got out of the car. He walked up to the house and Frankie and I waited patiently for him.

“How long have you known AJ?” Frankie asked me.

“Three days,” I smiled to him.

He laughed and shook his head.

“Has he ever taken a girl with him?” I asked referring to the spree we were about to go on.

“Nah, he doesn’t deal with girls too much,” he said.

I smiled to myself and then looked forward, AJ and another man walked out of the house and towards the car.

The guy and AJ got into the car, and AJ sped off, back down the dirt road.

“You must be Morgan,” the guy said. I turned around and smiled.

“Jeff?” I asked.

“Yeah,” he smiled. I turned back around and looked at AJ.

“Ok, boys, guns are in the back, load up,” AJ chuckled, pulling in front of a bank.

“So soon?” I panicked.

“Don’t worry baby girl, you’re just driving,” he winked and handed me a gun. I looked down at it and took a deep breath.

“That’s just in case. In order to survive, you can’t hesitate to shoot,” AJ told me.

I nodded, understanding what he was saying.

As soon as the three men stepped out of the car, I slid over to the driver side. My hands were shaking and I wasn’t sure if I could do this. My heart was pounding and a million and one thoughts ran through my mind, which scared me even more. I watched as AJ, Frankie, and Jeff, put hats on their heads, their faces barely being visible, then walk into the bank. I felt a tear fall down my cheek. I quickly wiped it away, this was no time for crying. I needed to be calm. A few minutes passed and then, three figures ran out of the bank, Jeff and Frankie jumping into the backseat and AJ sliding into the front. I hit the gas as AJ shut his door and squealed down the road. The boys laughed and pulled the money out of their pockets.

“We need to shave tonight and dye our hair,” AJ advised.

“When you get up here baby girl, pull over,” AJ instructed. So, I did as he told me and they hurriedly switched license plates and we were off again, this time, AJ driving.

“How do you feel?” AJ asked, looking at me.

“I can’t believe that just happened,” I stuttered. AJ smiled and nodded.

“I know, it’s exciting, huh?” he asked.

“Kind of,” I said and looked out the window.

“The police are probably after us, but they won’t catch us. We have enough money to last us a few weeks, but that won’t stop us,” he winked at me. I looked in the backseat and saw Frankie and Jeff busy, counting the money.

“How much did you get?” I questioned.

“A couple thousand,” he shrugged.

My eyes got wide and I sat back in my seat.

After almost ten hours of driving, we were in a new state, Louisiana.

“We’re out of Florida, let’s get a hotel,” AJ suggested, pulling off the interstate. The two in the backseat were sleeping.

AJ had me go in and pay for the rooms, just in case.

I got two rooms, one for me and AJ and one for Frankie and Jeff, they were connected with a door, so they could still discuss things.

“Ok, I got two rooms,” I said, getting back in the car.

“Good, let’s go,” AJ said, pulling around to the side of the hotel, where our room was.

We got out of the car, after waking Frankie and Jeff. We all did our share of carrying things inside, guns, money, clothes, stuff like that.

“Baby girl, this is what I want you to do,” AJ said, wrapping his arms around me after we were all settled for the night.

“What?” I asked.

“Go to the store and buy hair dye. Blonde, three bottles of it, for us, ok?” he asked. I nodded and took the money he had handed me.

“Be careful, why don’t you walk instead of taking the car, it’s right across the street,” AJ suggested.

“Ok, I’ll be right back,” I said and walked out of the hotel and across the street.

I walked into the store and looked around for the direction I should go in. I found the aisle where the hair dyes were and looked around and sighed. Blonde, blonde, and blonde.

“Did you hear about that guy who escaped jail over in Florida?” I heard someone say. It caught my attention because of Florida.

“Yeah, what was his name again?” asked another person. They walked by the aisle and I looked at them, interested in knowing who it was that had escaped.

“Johnny something...”

I dropped the box I was holding, I jumped and picked it back up then rushed to the front of the store. Above the cashier was a television with the news on it. I looked up and watched, a picture of Johnny, my now ex, flashed on the screen.

“Son of a...” I muttered, handed the cashier the money and rushed back to the hotel with the dye.

“AJ, my boyfriend’s broke out of jail,” I said breathlessly as I came into the hotel.

“He ain’t your boyfriend,” AJ told me.

“Well... I know, but...” I muttered.

“Don’t worry about it, he don’t know where you are,” he said. I nodded.

“Thank you baby for getting those,” he said smiling.

“You’re welcome,” I smiled. He took the dye out of the bag and walked over to where Frankie and Jeff were, handing them the dye.

After AJ dyed his hair and shaved off all his facial hair, he even took out his chin ring.

“I think you should put the chin ring back in,” I smiled, wrapping my arms around his neck. He wrapped his arms around my waist.

“You think so?” he asked, smiling back at me.

“Yeah, it was sexy,” I said smiling.

“Only when I’m around you can I wear it baby girl,” he said, then leaned forward and kissed my lips. The kiss quickly got passionate and AJ and I were shoving our tongues down each others throats.

Without breaking the kiss, we walked over to the door connecting to Frankie and Jeff’s room and AJ shut it, then fumbled with the lock.

“Let me make love to you, Morgan,” AJ whispered, breaking the kiss to look into my eyes.

I answered him with a passionate kiss. His hands roamed down my back, to the hem of my shirt. He then lifted my shirt over my head, only breaking the kiss to do so. His shirt had been removed from earlier and I ran my fingers up and down his muscular torso. He kissed my cheek, moving his kisses to my earlobe.
