Christians in the hands of
a Jealous God
Chapter 3
Judgment begins continued….
Part 2
- "Reprobate"
God will not only give us over to that
which we lust after, He will permit that spirit of error (1 John 4:6), which energizes that lust to fulfill it's
coarse of destruction if we don't repent. He will permit us to go past feeling
anymore, having our conscience seared as with a hot iron (1 Tim 4:2). The
Spirit will not always strive with man (Gen 6:3). "…God also gave them up
to uncleanness through the lusts of their own
hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:"
(Rom 1:24) "And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned
in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving
in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain
God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled
(contrast this spirit filling, with that in Acts; "full of,"
"filled with," and "being filled") with all
unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of
envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors
of evil things, disobedient to parents,
Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection,
implacable, unmerciful: Who
knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are
worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them."
(Rom 1:27-32)
Reprobate,
in Hebrew: 3988 (Strongs Concordance)
ma'ac (maw-as');
a primitive root; to
spurn; also (intransitively) to disappear:
KJV-- abhor, cast away (off),
contemn, despise, disdain, (become) loathe (some), melt
away, refuse, reject, reprobate, X utterly, vile
person.
In Greek: 96 (Strongs
Concordance) adokimos (ad-ok'-ee-mos);
from 1 (as a negative particle) and 1384; unapproved, i.e. rejected; by implication, worthless (literally or morally): KJV-- castaway, rejected, reprobate.
This is the same Greek word found in 1 Cor 9:27, written by the Apostle
Paul, who was saved, redeemed by the Blood of Jesus! But understanding the necessity to stay on fire for the Lord,
because the love of many will wax cold and grip our hearts to draw back unto
perdition if we don't yield completely, surrender totally to the Spirit of
truth. "But I keep under my body, and bring it into
subjection: lest that by any
means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway
(Reprobate)."
"What, I thought once
you professed Christ, you're in?"
'Turn you at my
reproof: behold, I will pour
out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you. Because I have called, and ye refused; I
have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my
reproof: I also will laugh at your
calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;
When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a
whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you. Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall
seek me early, but they shall not find me:
For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the
LORD: They would none of my counsel: they
despised all my reproof. Therefore
shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own
devices." (Prov
1:23-31)
Signs of The End
Yes backslidden "Christians" will lead the world in the number of Reprobates, "For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them." (2 Pet 2:21). Yes, this Apostasy of "Christianity" will be a sign to mark the Last-Days that we're getting even closer, but another sign marking the "End-Times" that is often overlooked is the proliferation of "False Teachers" that will usher in and hasten the judgments of God for sure. When these guys come on the scene, the deceived will think it's the greatest teaching since the resurrection of Jesus; but the wise will say, even so come Lord Jesus!
I've often heard Jude 14 and 15 quoted to talk about the coming of the Lord, "And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him." But I have never heard it taught in its proper context! Read before and after these verses, if you put it into context, it is in the midst of talking about the false prophets, false teachers, scoffers and mockers that will infiltrate the camp of the believers in the last days. These guys are not the Jehovah's Witnesses, Muslims, Mormons, etc. That's the obvious! These guys are not the obvious, but wolves in sheep's clothing, "…false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works." (2 Cor 11:13-15)
Jude 1:10-18
10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not (In relation to what I've been talking about; they no not contentment): but what they know naturally (Money, money, money), as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves (God gives them over to their lusts).
11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain (Gen 4), and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward (Num 22:1-25), and perished in the gainsaying of Core (Num 16).
12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;
13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.
14 And
Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the
Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
15 To
execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of
all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their
hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.
17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
Acts 20:28-31
28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.
31 Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.
Do you believe the "Last-Days" are upon us? What shall be the end of all these things we're hearing preached? Most of what we're hearing has no real eternal value, and will make no real eternal impact! It is all geared for the here and now! What about Hell and who goes there? Hell is still a real literal place of eternal separation and torment! So where are the voices crying out, "don't go there," "flee the wrath of God to come, accept His mercy and grace, He loves you?" The voices are out in the desert, they're not in the majority of Christian TV, they won't be invited to speak at the crystal cathedral! Just like in the days of John the Baptist, that's pretty much the only place you'll find someone crying out what the Spirit truly says unto the Church, is out in the desert!
This is the day of "Apostasy," and with tears I'm sad to declare that most Christians don't even know it, they can't even perceive it because of the strong delusion! Most of the time it's like a dead end conversation talking with people who have been influenced by another spirit (2 Cor 11), they've already believed "the Lie" and not even the truth of Holy Writ is going to persuade them! Covetousness has gripped their hearts, they've been swayed by good words, fair speeches and men's persons in admiration, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby these false teachers lie in wait to deceive! The love of Christ Jesus constrains me to warn you concerning "The Word of Faith Movement!" It is satan's roar before attack, subverting whole households, devouring those who resist being stedfast in the faith!
"But
they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish
and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all
evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and
pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after
righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on
eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good
profession before many witnesses." (1 Tim 6:9-12)
"Seeing
then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye
to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the
heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with
fervent heat? Nevertheless we,
according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein
dwelleth righteousness. Wherefore,
beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found
of him in peace, without spot, and blameless." (2 Pet 3:11-14)
Maranatha!
