Christians in the hands of a Jealous God

Christians in the hands of a Jealous God

Chapter 6

The Handwriting on the Wall

I wonder when I read Jesus weeping at Israel's unbelief!  The handlers of the Word of God who knew not God, neither discerned the time of their visitation!  How Jesus must weep for us!  We who are living in the final hour of Bible prophecy, the day in which many declare as the greatest day of understanding Scripture!  Now we're the keepers of the Word of God, we understand religious things, we go to Church, we know all of our spiritual ABC's, but we can't read words, we have a difficult time discerning the signs of the times!  Educated watchmen on the walls have become nothing but dumb sleeping dogs, loving to sleep!  Does the Lord delay His coming?  Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision and no clear word from the Lord in the multimedia???  Here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come, a heavenly, an eternal; so is this such a time to go after gold and apparel?  Is it not written: "They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be removed: their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels: because it is the stumblingblock of their iniquity." (Ezek 7:19)  There are many teachers, but few fathers.  There are many voices, but few crying out what the Spirit says unto the Church!  Because IF they had stood in God's counsel, and had caused God's people to hear what God has to say concerning the times in which we live, then they should have no doubt turned the people from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings!  But it is evident there is a severe depreciation of holiness and the fear of the Lord, a devastating decline of true anointing and Holy Ghost power, and the preaching of another Gospel by another spirit presenting another Jesus, which IS NOT our Lord and Savior!

Engraven

"We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:" (2 Pet 1:19)  It's not only written on the wall, but it is written in our hearts (Jer 31:33) the Lord shall judge His people! (Heb 10:30)

In the same hour as the King of Babylon and his people took the Holy things of God and made merry with them, praising the gods of silver and gold, exalting himself in pride, there came forth the finger of God (Comp John 8:6) declaring "Mene, Mene, Tekel, Upharsin"  God has numbered your kingdom and has finished it; you have been weighed in the balances and are found wanting; and your kingdom is divided and given to the Medes and the Persians!  Ironically, coincidental, or prophesied long ago, we have a generation of "Christians" who praise the gods of silver and gold, exalt themselves, and blaspheme the Holy things of God. God will prove you to see whether or not you love the Lord your God with all your heart (Dt 13:3).  The last of the seven Churches mentioned in Revelation 2-3, "Laodicea", without a doubt is a generation of Church goers who are pure in their own eyes!  It is the only Church out of the seven mentioning Jesus being on the outside looking in!  Though many in our generation would hold this Church up as the pinnacle of Christianity because of all it's prosperity and success, Jesus said they were poor, wretched, blind and naked!  He told the rich Church they're poor and the poor Church they're rich, (Rev 2:9)!  IT IS engraven in the Word and forever settled in heaven, "The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:" (Luke 17:20)  "Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth." (Luke 12:15)

Loving to Slumber

What we're seeing in modern Christianity is found in the parable of the ten virgins, Matt 25:1-13, key verse 5 "While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept."  We preach everything except what will stir us into being prepared for His coming or preparing others for His coming!  You may not agree with that statement, but it is fact!  Most of that so called good preaching, whether we live or die, won't have an impact on the eternal, only the temporal.  God knows what we have need of, He promised to meet them, ask and go on!  You don't have to build a mega-multimillion dollar industry of audio tapes, video tapes, conferences, etc. of how to get your needs met!  Unless of course you're into alluring through the lusts of the flesh, tickling people silly to get your wants, and rocking them to sleep with no alarm to wake them up out of the slumber that has hit the 21st century like no other previous generation!  He that hath ears to hear let him hear!  Most will not preach, the way of truth like Jesus and the apostles preached it, the cross of Christ, lest they should suffer persecution! (Gal 6:12)  "Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.  But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived." (2 Tim 3:12-13)  "For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;"  (Phil 1:29)

"(According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day." (Rom 11:8)

Isa 56:8-12

8          The Lord GOD which gathereth the outcasts of Israel saith, Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him.

9          All ye beasts of the field, come to devour, yea, all ye beasts in the forest.

10        His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.

11        Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.

12        Come ye, say they, I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and to morrow shall be as this day, and much more abundant.

Verse 9, one woman took pray out of school because God's people drifted off into slumber, "For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ's." (Phil 2:21). The things that used to shock us and alarm us, we have become oblivious to, having hardened our hearts!   Things we wouldn't allow once to be named among us as becometh saints 20 years ago, is now socially, politically and religiously acceptable!  This is the day lukewarmness.  The day in which the love of many is waxing cold, stir up and shake yourselves, "Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand!" (Phil 4:5)
