There's still a Judgment!
Beloved,
Did you know that as a Christian, you will still one day stand before God and give an account of yourself? I hope you already knew that! One day, even though you are saved, you will answer to God for what you did here on earth. The way many Christians conduct and live their lives, it appears as if they will not give an account for anything, you're going to Heaven and that's ALL you need to know or care about. Well, if that's what you think, I pray you reconsider the entirety of Scripture! I want to point out some Scriptures concerning the Judgment and my hearts desire is to encourage you to be prepared for THAT DAY! The Bible say in Hebrews 9:27 that, "…it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:"
Christians ought not to fear death or demons, but standing before a Holy God and giving an account according to that which you have done good or bad ought to give you a sense of eternity, holiness and urgency! Jesus said, "But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned." (Matt 12:36-37)
THE JUDGMENT OF THE BELIEVER:
Eternal rewards will be given or lost according to how we build (work, do) upon the foundation.
1 Cor 3:9-18 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building. According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
Some will receive the reward of inquity (Acts 1:18; James 5:20; 2 Peter 2:13; 3:17; Jude 1:11)
Matt 25:14-30 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey. Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents. And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two. But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money. After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth (made them give an account) with them.
The comparison in these two sections of Scripture is "HOW THEY BUILT." The first two persons in both the Scriptures did build, did try, did put forth the ability that God's grace has given us!!! The third type of people were disobedient, wicked, slothful, fearful and hid it. (Compare Rev 21:8) Outer darkness where there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth in scripture ALWAYS refers to hell!!! Notice also that we are rewarded because we are faithful! (Compare Rev 17:14)
"But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things. And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God? Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; Who will render to every man according to his deeds: To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: For there is no respect of persons with God." Rom 2:2-11
"But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God." Rom 14:10-12
"And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons." Col 3:23-25
"And, behold, I come quickly;
and my
reward is with me,to give every man
according as his work shall be."Rev 22:12
