Most of us are under the impression that we need to resist the devil when he is trying to steal our blessings. However, if we really want to "chase" the devil out of our lives, we must learn to practice whatever God would have us to do no matter what the cost.

Resisting the devil means…

• Resisting the temptation to gossip.
• Resisting the "right" to hold grudges.
• Resisting resentment.
• Resisting our pride when we need to apologize.
• Resisting stealing the tithe, even when we think we need it.
• Resisting unforgiveness or fearfulness.
• Resisting playing or sleeping in on Sundays instead of going to Church.
• Resisting complaining about going to Church, the Preacher, or our Spouse.

• Resisting making excuses for our anti-Christian behavior.

The list goes on and on, but the point is that the source of all these things is the same and they are all designed to keep us estranged from the Lord and defeated. If we want the power of God in our lives, if we want revival in our families and in our land. We must learn to "Submit to the Lord and resist the devil." Then we can stand on the promise that "he will flee."
