*How to convert 24bit bmp's to 256 colors without wrecking them.

Tools you need: Chara Mucker 1999 (get it at Don Miguels website: http://rpgmaker.chat.ru In the UTILITEZZZ section)

MS Paint will always destroy the color in an image when you convert
a 24bit to 256color. This is because it used a default palate, in
other words it wont check the image for what colors it uses and make
the palate with those colors, instead it opens the file and uses a
default palate which may or may not use all the same colors as the
image uses. MS Paint just dosent know any better. CM99 checks the
image and makes a palate with the colors that the image uses, so
when you convert it the colors wont be altered.

-=The Process=-

1. Open the bmp file with the CM99 and hit F12. Save it as a .png filetype.

-=Thats it. Easy huh.=-

**How to import monsters to your RPG game.

In the rpgmaker2000 the top toolbar has little icons. The 15th icon
from the left is the Import/Export icon. This opens a "Raw Materials
Settings" dialog. (The icon looks like a square with arrows going around it.)

Click the MONSTER folder in the left window. Then click the
Import button (top right corner). Nagavate to the Beasts/creatures
folder where you unRARed/unZIPped the archive to and choose a monster
to import. (***Important Note below) Thats it. Do that for all
the monsters you want to use. Now go into the Database (F8) and
click the Monsters Tab. Scroll down to the bottom of the
Monster Editor and select a blank line. Choose 'Set' to
select the monster graphic, and select one of the monsters
you just imported, adjust the creatures stats as you wish.
 Dont forget to name it.

Q: PICS STILL SHOW THE BACKGROUND IN THE BATTLE!!! WTF!!!!

***TROUBLESHOOTING NOTE: when you IMPORT files that
should have a transparent background, like these monster
pics. If the background isn't flashing left click on the
background to make it the transparent color (it will then flash).
