A Great Loss

A man died today, not a man but a legend
Dale was the hero that would not stop being a hero
Born with gasoline in his veins and rubber under his nails
The man knew how to drive from conception
In a time when hero's let us down
A time when fame leads to egos and mistrust
There is always one who defies the common law
Never did he falter, never did he turn down the road of deceit
A father, a husband, a friend, and an idol
His life filled with happiness and glory
Dale Earnhardt was NASCAR and NASCAR is Dale Earnhardt
So lets bow our heads and thank the Great Spirit above
Thank the Great Spirit for letting us be graced with Dale's presence
The man may be gone, but his spirit and his legend will be forever
We Will Miss You,Dale Earnhardt,1951-2001
