For 2002 Cadillac offered an all-new Escalade based off the Chevy Tahoe/ GMC Yukon platform. However, this time, the Escalade's sheet metal was all Cadillacs. The Escalade came with either a 5.3 liter 285 horsepower engine or a 6.0 liter 345 horsepower engine. When equipped with the 6.0 L engine, the Escalade is the most powerful SUV on earth. O-60 comes up in about 7.5 seconds. The 6.0 is sold with the 4-wheel drive version, while the 5.3 comes with the 2-wheel drive version.
Cadillac also had world-famous Italian jeweler Bulgari to desing the instrument panel with a Bulgari clock.
For 2003 Cadillac added a SUT or sport utility truck, called the Escalade EXT, based of the Chevy Avalanche, and the Escalade ESV, a supersized Escalade based of the Chevy Suburban.
