Withlacoochee River

The Withlacoochee River, from the green swamp to the Gulf of Mexico(in Florida)is a great place to go trippin'.
I once spent 3 days dragging and paddling through the Green Swamp, Often loosing track of the true path of the river. Deep in the swamp there is little open areas of water, which ranged from a few yards wide to around 50 yards. Where the waters "disappeared" into the underbrush, feathers from all the egrets and other birds accumulated up against the 'bank' of brush. Some were from natural shedding, and I am sure that some were the victims of the alligators, but their feathers created a 'snow' effect where the water flowed into the underbrush. Ever seen a 15 foot alligator swim 15 feet from a 15 foot canoe? It is awesome!
