Jade, and her brother Golden Boy, at approximately 7 months of age. "Golden Boy" grew to be a large and gorgeous Chausie. His golden color only became more stunning as he matured. Unfortunately, Golden boy proved sterile, as we now know that all (with no documented exceptions) F1 Chausie males are. I regrettably no longer have Golden Boy. He was a delightful Chausie to know, much more outgoing and all-around personable than Jade. Golden Boy was placed in a pet home. |

I bought Jade in 1994 at around 9 weeks of age. Jade's sire, Sir Sydney of Wildkatz, is owned by Sandra Cassalia of Wildkatz cattery. Sydney can be seen on her website on the Jungle cats page. Chausies sired by Sir Sydney can be seen on the Chausies page, half siblings to Jade (and the resemblance is evident.) Sir Sydney has sired many gorgeous Chausies. Jade has exceptional ear tufts, a gorgeous Jungle face, and the sought after super long legs and long body. She also has a lovely, exotic-sounding voice. She weighs in at approximately 14 lbs. (this weight does fluctuate from winter to summer.)Jade had stripes as a kitten which, as you can tell by looking at these pics, have faded with age. Jade is the darker brown ticked tabby/tawney color, and she has passed this darker color on to a few of her kittens. Jade was bred with a very golden outcross sire to bring golden out in some of her kittens (see Thomas on my outcross page for more info.)
