The effects of the drugging and beatings Broward County Jail administered during the eight months damaged Andy's brain. He is also suffering from depression, paranoia, and Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome. His wife couldn't deal with the changes those eight months made in Andy and she took their son and left. Randy is now growing up without the happy family he once had.
