or The Dangers of Internet Free Stuff

Finding a home for the Archie Davis Autopsy Photos has proven to be much harder than I thought.  Little did I know that some easily offended people would consider the pictures of the results of Wakulla CI 'officers' dirty deeds as pornographic as I found the errant guard's' behavior to be. Nor did I know how easy it was to get shut down with a report from a disapproving reader.

Angelfire shut down both the Making The Walls Transparent Guard-C/O Index and The Archie Davis Websitesdown after an unknown person reported them as containing pornographic material - yes, the Archie Davis Autopsy Photos were the 'culprit'.  So I moved the pictures into an album hosted by Bravenet.

The photos in the Bravenet album also had to be deleted after being reported again by an unknown stalker to Bravenet as being "Adult Content".  Bravenet not only shut down the photo album, but also removed their counters on https://www.angelfire.com/fl3/starke, https://www.angelfire.com/fl4/prison, and https://www.angelfire.com/fl4/prison/guard.html 

The pictures without a home are the autopsy photos of a non-violent young man who was about to be released from prison, but who never made it home: Officers are reported to have tortured him for at least 10 days and finally just killed him in cold blood.  The errant guards then reported his death as a suicide.  The pictures weren't the problem but only the result of the terrible actions of the guards.

In all reality, this site is not dedicated to children, but I do believe parents should look at these issues with their children so that the realities of the broken and bent American Justice System doesn't hit them square between the eyes one day.  Believe me, it hurts!

Censoring information from the public is worse than neglectful - it is self-destructive. Looking Away Will Be Our Downfall!

I had two perfectly good bravenet counters one on:
https://www.angelfire.com/fl3/starke
and one on:
https://www.angelfire.com/fl4/prison

Both were in the high numbers, one of which was about to reach 100,000.

Suddenly both disappeared and a block is now on each page that says "Counter code has changed. Please update your code."

I didn't change anything. I even wrote and asked y'all what would happen when my numbers exceeded your spaces on the counter and y'all told me the counter would automatically add the extra space needed.

I click on the counter to fix it, which takes me to
http://counter6.bravenet.com/index.php?id=370258&usernum=432525010 and I get a sign that says: "Sorry, the account you are trying to access has been deleted." I DID NOT DELETE MY ACCOUNT!

Why would the account be deleted? What happened and how can it be fixed?

I don't remember my count on either page and really needed that. Is there anything that can be done to restore the original counters (although by now I've lost hundreds of visitors)?

If I just open a new account and start over, how do I know this won't happen again? I had these counters for a couple of years, since before you got rid of the nice freebies and then gave them back.

Doug. you sound like a nice young man. Can't you help me here? I searched long and hard for a counter that worked for me and now I can't use bravenet anymore?

Gosh, I don't understand. I can't believe my counters were removed for 'adult content' when mine is just a prison reform site build by a little old grandma. The issues I talk about are subjects everyone should discuss with their children if they don't want the horrors of mass incarceration to hit them smack between the eyes.

I always thought adult content was sex and perversion? I'm talking about the Florida DoC here.

Could you give me specifics on what content was offensive to Bravenet? I didn't even know you guys did this and now I am the target of Bravenet censorship?

Sigh... It's getting hard to talk about anything without someone putting muffles on. What was that thing about free speech we used to be entitled to?

Doug, do you personally think my site needed to be punished like this?

Someone was worried enough about the information on my site  to report me to my counter source?  Unbelievable when there's so much real PORN out there.

How would I find out who did this?  Probably the same person(s) who seem to report me to every free service I use.

Did Bravenet check to see if I really did violate terms with 'adult content'?  If so, please give me details.  Perhaps it's just a word or two that I could change.

I am definately not taking down the valuable information on my site.  But by refusing to allow me to use your counter, you are losing a lot of advertising.  My site is read by hundreds of people a day, reporters, department employees, Florida prisoners' families, ministers etc and hopefully the FBI and Justice Department.

They are offended by the things the department does, but definately are not offended by my presentation.  There is also a note on the first page of the site that says adults should read the site with their children so they can discuss what's there.

Can't I appeal this somehow, Doug?  I like your service (except for the censorship), I like your choice of counters. I like the Bravenet name.  I hate to tell the world that Bravenet has censored MTWT.

I didn't even think of those.  I don't consider the pictures porn so didn't make the connection.  I just thought you meant my website info.

My pictures are not porn, but the actions that caused the results you see in the pictures sure are. 

My old computer broke down and I don't have copies of the pictures anymore.

If you will reactivate and give me just a bit of time to save the pictures to this machine, I will gladly remove the link to the album and the pictures from the album.

Wow, I didn't know you took everything away including the counter on other accounts and the pictures.  I didn't even think of the pictures.

Will there be anyway to reinstate my counter to the original number or will I have to start over and create a new one?

I'm glad to finally get the mystery cleared up of what caused my losses.

Now, if I get an attorney, can I find out who reported me?  I'd like to find out if it's the same guy who keeps doing this to whatever accounts I'm using for my project.
