BUTLER CI aka NFRC and RMC, Juvenile abuse in North Florida prison

Juvenile Offender at RMC threatened with rape all night long on May 31, 2003

On the night of May 31st a juvenile offender housed on the 2nd floor of the cell block at NFRC Main Unit (aka RMC and Butler) was taken by the guards in the night down to the adult unit on the floor below and was locked in a 2-man cell with a large black inmate who kept putting his nude behind in the boy's face all night trying to get him to have sex.

The young boy finally ran to the door BEGGING and PLEADING with the guards to let him out, but to no avail.

When the Sunday day shift guards arrived (8-4 shift) and heard about it, they got a big kick out of it, and were heard talking about it all over the compound, sharing it with others, and laughing about it all day Sunday, June 1st.

Terrifying the young inmate happened on the midnight to 8AM shift, and the 8AM to 4PM guards were talking about it. Someone would have to find out more from some residents of the 1st floor cell block bldg.

But, because RMC is a reception center, although there are permanent inmates there (short sentences, like for parole violations and things), the transients are in and out every few days, as they're being transferred, or they're in there for medical reasons, recuperating from surgery or chemo, etc. Anyway, inmates are basically and constantly in transit and without a lucky break, little will be discovered about this incident. The DOC sure isn't going to bother.

I am writing to you about me and other juveniles who is being abused everyday and threatened to have their life taken by the Sgt. on the third shift.

4-10-03 - Happened again last night, stating he will "killed" any juvenile who bring down any paper work or anyone else who help them do it. Ok, I am the one who is helping them on this matter. We need something done about it ASAP through or by your group using FDLE, who can help out in this matter. That way, these people can be punished for all the wrong doing to the under age kids.

And you have officers here also that was pushing broom sticks up in gay's rectum, stating, "It don't look like he got no pussy to me. That look like shit on the stick to me." UNQUOTE!

There is a lots of abuse going on, and the only way you can catch them, you are going to have to put some under age gays (white, black, and Spanish). The same with young people of the same age. They got to be "undercover" with nobody knowing what they are doing in here, nobody but the people who is sending them.

There is a "conspiracy" to hurt or "kill" every inmate they can, no matter their age, race, as long as they can get away with it.

If something isn't done about this matter real soon, then you will have more serious abuse going on than you have now, because the people are going crazy here with that abuse.

The medical people are real real bad, to the point the sick inmates are passing out on the yard and dorm AFTER they take the medication that they are given. For lack of co-operation from the officers on what the medical department tells them, what to do concerning how to treat the inmates who come out of the operation room and have 'medical passes' to lay in. But the officers make them go to the yard no matter what, and they get bad off sick and pass out on the rec yard from all these abuses from the prison staff here at Lake Butler.

So, you have a change of command on how to kill inmates and get away with it, and the whole state of Florida is letting the do it.

So as of right now, these people are off the change, when it comes down to hurting inmates who be coming through here to get medical treatment. But instead they get beated up, ribs broken, head busted, sexually abused and even killed for simple things, as not saying 'yes sir' or 'no mam'. Or talking in line and other simple things as they hate you for no reason that they can think of and get away with it.

Kay, you need a whole, whole, whole lots of staff changes here, that way all this sickness can leave.

And, let's see, about the 'medical care', we could contact the DOC medical person, Dixie Parker parker.dixie@MAIL.DC.STATE.FL.US, whom I'VE never known to take care of a complaint I've had about a sick prisoner yet.

And of course, THE MAN, the person who is most responsible for the problems to begin with, FDOC's Michael Moore, Secretary of the entire Department of "Corrections", who has always assured us that each and every case is an 'isolated incident' and has professed to be 'proud' his staff - no matter what they do. moore.michael@mail.dc.state.fl.us

And then there's FDLE, who told me they only involve cases of death, yet jumped on the case of the official's wife's nothing-to-do-with-death problems.
