THE ONLY THING IN LIFE
Written by
THE DEATH ROW POET
Ronald W. Clark Jr.
The only thing in life that is one hundred percent guaranteed is death, and death is the one thing that every human being and living creature has in common. It may not always seem fair or forthright, for a times we may feel cheated, not being able to say, for the last time, "I'm sorry," or "I love you," or "Goodbye."
Cheated or not, death is the most equalizing event that we will face while oln this earth, for death does not love, hate, or discriminate. It doesn't take into consideration age, race, sex, sexual orientation, faith, religion, background, or your status in society. From the poorest to the richest, from a junkie in the ghetto to the president of the United States of America, death will not discriminate. It treats us all as equals.
Death can not be bribed, sold, or dealt with. It cannot be cheated. You can dance with it, even flirt with it, but none of us knows the day, hour, minute, or even the very second.
I assume that I'll finish writing this, just as you assume that you'll finish reading it, but again, we assume too much. Stop assuming and taking life for granted. Live today as if it were your last, and treat life as it is meant to be treated; as a gift most sacred and precious. Treat every individual as you would want to be treated. Treat that person as life or death treats us all; equally.
For death is truly impartial and unbias4ed, and that's the way we need to be toward one another, showing love, compassion, and mercy to all.
God Bless.
