Connecting Threads
http://www.geocities.com/connect_threads

A Florida based Christian web site dedicated to connecting inmates and their families with the community.  We believe that the inmates "punishment" is his or her sentence and that the Dept. of Corrections is not charged with inflicting dehumanizing abuse on the offender.  We offer prison families connections to spiritual and support systems, judicial and legal reviews, advocacy and reform sites, and updates on department of corrections and legislative information.

RECOGNITION FOR A PROFESSIONAL EMPLOYEE

Ms. Marti Thomas

Hello, Kay--

My nomination is for MS. MARTI THOMAS, who works in the FDOC Family Ombudsman office. I applied for visitation and never heard back. I called that office and Marti was working. She listened to my request, asked pertinent and  relevant questions, spoke clearly and precisely, and even read the computer information over the phone. She was compassionate, literate, friendly, helpful and didn't mind waiting as I laboriously wrote down all her information. I explained I am handicapped and used a speakerphone in order to speak and write at the same time. She even took extra time to repeat answers, so that I fully understood her replies.

MARTI THOMAS (full name Martha) will forever have my undying thanks, for her attitude, deportment and professionalism, in a job in which not enough appreciation is tendered.

Thanx,
Susan R Haldane-Laster

I am including this site, because it is questionable whether
prisoners have civil liberties, but we know the families still do!
