RE: Ronald Ashcraft

Okeechobee Correctional Institution
P.O. Box 1984
Okeechobee, FL 34972-1984Dear Media Friends:
I know that you have tackled nightmares, abuses, wrongful conduct, etc. issues in Florida's state prison system in the past. Well, my friends, we have a potentially life-threatening case here and it appears that higher-echelon DOC officials are going to wait until the inmate is maimed or murdered before realistically assessing the merits of Ashcraft's allegations.
The solution to this critical situation is so simple that it makes one wonder why the DOC wouldn't take precautionary measures and save this man's life. We are all painfully aware that other threatened prisoners have been killed in the Florida prison system. Ronald Ashcraft could be next.
An expository story in your newspaper could not only save Ashcraft's life, but the lives of others who face similar danger in the future. Thus, I ask that you consider investigating the case of a man who has been in the Florida system for 18 years and now lives in a state of perpetual fear---a man who sees imminent tragedy lurking around every corner.
I have ample documentation to assist you in launching your investigation. I will be pleased to share it with you if you are seriously interested in getting down to the truth that is at the heart of this ongoing, incredible, nightmare of a story. Mr. Ashcraft has already given his permission for the press to pry into his sad saga. Just tell me where and how to send the background material and I'll be more than pleased to comply.
Many thanks and sincere best wishes,
Sid Kleiner
