The fifth and sixth graders students of GES took time out of their spring break to compete in Willie Walker's Math Competition in Miami, Florida. All of the students were involved in intense rounds of mental math problems. Our students competed against eight other schools in the state of Florida who use mental math problems also. This was Greensboro's first time competing in the competition which is held every year. Every GES student left the competition with a sense of pride in themselves, a trophy, and a certificate. The team placed fourth overall. The students who represented Greensboro Elementary were: Jamarieus Ganious, Kyle Chancey, Ron Darrius Roberts, Yimi Garcia, Deandrea Joseph, Jy-Nese Bostick, Candi Bryant, Gaysha Marshall, Delrico Lane, Sara Alvarez, Jamese Blakely, and Marcia James. The chaperones who went were: Mrs. Joseph, Ms. Wanton, and Mr. Walker. These students are to be commended for a job well done and their wonderful bulldog behavior.
