Al Diamond ,the guitar player and singer, was my lead mechanic at Eastern for many years. He was also my best friend and fishing buddy.I kidded him a lot about his size (I called him my little irish buddy ).He would have a few beers and fall asleep. His dear wife, Emma, passed away in 1987 and I was honored to be one of her pallbearers.

One of my favorite trips was to the Belle Glade campground on Lake Okeechobee. It was on a three day weekend and once the word got out that our group was going, more people asked to be included. We rented the pavillion section of the campground, and there was 16 motorhomes with a total of 63 people including children. We always had a fish fry on saturday night and after dinner Al Diamond would play his guitar and sing accompanied by Herb on his amplified harmonica, and George Hensley on the guitar. Neither Herb or George fished ,but they would come to the campground on Saturday afternoon and play for us at the saturday night dinner and go home Sunday morning.Needless to say this was much appreciated by everyone.
