Bud Plank ,this was a trip we made to the north end of Okeechobee.I had always been able to eat any hot pepper that I found.But Bernice introduced me to an ornemental pepper that sat my mouth on fire on this trip.She grew them in a planter. Same trip,Bud Plank,Butterball Pearce,his son Rusty,Pegs daughter Judy and Denene Pearce.

Peggy and Bernice Plank with a catch of specks.The only down side to these kinds of catches was filleting them for the saturday night fish fry,but are they delicious?wow! rolled in cornmeal and flour,salt and pepper and deep fried, with Peggys hush puppies ,oh my!!!! I can still taste them.
